"It hurts when the beauty is lost in the speed" is very profound bc it's like there's so much beauty to be experienced, but life moves so quickly that one can't fully grasp or appreciate these beautiful moments because life moves so quickly and with such great volatility

The primary singer of the French is pomme (another magnificent singer), but as a Norwegian myself-and same age as Aurora-we do have to learn two foreign languages in school, English being one of them (the second one is most often a choice)

She's a poet. And that is the French singer Pomme in the last part. She's the same age as Aurora. Aurora learned the French part and there is a live performance of it on KZfaq. It's a whole concert I think, but it's on KZfaq. It's the "Rough trade" concert she did last week in London. She sings the French part. She has a live performance of "Heathens" from this album and just put out the Music video for "A temporary high" Oh, And this is the translation for the French part [Outro: Pomme] Somewhere before dawn When the light wants to see us Somewhere in the world, a bird falls asleep Quietly, you and me We will find in the night Somewhere to put the flowers we have picked Leave before dawn When the light wants to see us Somewhere in the world a bird falls asleep Quietly, you and me We will find in the night Somewhere to put the flowers we have picked Leave before dawn When the light wants to see us Somewhere in the world a bird falls asleep Quietly, you and me We will find in the night Somewhere to put the flowers we have picked

I love this song and the whole album, every song is so different. It’s so exiting ❤️ The french part is Pomme with Aurora in the background. About the song: In an interview with NME, AURORA said that “… I do often feel like this world is trying to make me focus on all these great miracles. And somehow I feel like it makes me miss out on the small ones. And that is sad. Because the small miracles happen all the time. Sometimes several times a day. And I want to see all of them. Because everything matters.” On a livestream by Pomme, Aurora further recounted how their collaboration came to be; "I made my album in a castle in Norway, and it has French history. And this man lived in this castle like hundreds of years ago, and he was French, Marcus Gerhard. And he loved art and music and he celebrated and invited people and I thought it would be a nice way to honour this French castle by having you." Aurora later explained to Apple Music: “I don’t normally do features. I knew a bit about [Pomme] because she’s extremely sweet and very talented. I wanted to include some Frenchness on the opening song as a gift to the castle that gave me a lot of the inspiration to finish this album. I asked her if she could write the ending of my song in French, and she wrote a beautiful story about the flowers we picked in all of your favourite places. It is an ode to Rosendal.” My favourite songs for the moment are: Everything Matters You keep me crawling Exhale Inhale A Temporary High A Dangerous Thing Artemis Blood in the wine This could be a dream A little place called the moon Ok, I just couldn’t stop myself. All the songs are great 👍 Aurora, the musical genius ❤️

I truly enjoy your Aurora reactions. I also love Aurora´s music, I believe she is an absolute genius. I'm just fascinated by her artistry. I love this song. I love how we don't know what in the lyrics is real, what is affecting what, like the butterfly effect: The person beside her is sitting in his/her own car, but someone else is driving/has control. The person sleeping - is he/she traveling fast in real life or in the dream? And is the bird a metaphor or is it part of the dream? And it goes on and on. I love exploring these lyrics. Everything is affecting something, everything matters... This album "The Gods we can touch" is a bit of a challenge for me, lyrically, even though "the gods" she is inspired by, are the Ancient Greek gods. I am a Christian, and she probably has less of a religious background than I have. Still, I think she is so honestly exploring the human condition, I like challenging myself with her lyrics anyway. I think it's healthy to see other peoples perspective in these questions. I love her honest criticism of hypocrisy and double standards and the unnecessary infliction of shame upon people for being who they are. As a Christian, I am very much engaged in these questions myself. In my eyes, all those things are just making God smaller. If my faith is threatened by people speaking the truth, the faith wasn't worth much anyway! Aurora has said: “In the right hands faith can become the most beautiful thing. Nurturing and warm. And in the wrong hands it can become a beacon of war and death." Also we don't have to agree with everything to love someone. :) You have given some indications of religious beliefs, that's why I wanted to write this to you. Some of the lyrics in this album might be a bit off-putting for some. I know. Still I love this album, the lyrics are so multi-layered and intelligent. I like to go for a walk listening to the entire album, then it feels almost like a musical. It fascinates me that the song "Exist for Love", I have always thought it was beautiful, though a bit hard to swallow for a grown woman. At first I wondered if she was being ironic, the expression of love just felt a bit over the top. Then I have come to appreciate it as art. But in the context of the album, it felt just right, because here she also talked about the ugly sides of relationships. So as I listened to the album, it was like she primed me for it, so when Exist for love came, I was so ready for it! And when she then sung "The Innocent" I openly cried. It´s almost as if in Exhale Inhale, she sings: "Do you understand what is happening?" I felt it was like a meta-commentary to the whole album. I don't know if everything I feel about this is intentional, but I love it. She surely has intentions in her music that I don't grasp. Aurora herself has said that her music is bigger than her. Have you watched the documentary "Once Aurora"? Very much recommended! And I think you might find in on YT or you have to buy it, but it's worth it. Well I am looking forward to more Aurora reactions from you, enjoy! (Angelina Jordan is the one living in LA, Aurora is touring these days, I believe, but still living in Norway.)

Enjoyed your reaction! AURORA brought French artist Pomme in to sing the final verses in French (Pomme essentially took AURORA's lyrics, translated them into French, then revised them / wrote her own lyrics to correspond to AURORA's -- taking into consideration theme, rhyme and syllables, etc.). Then AURORA supplied back-up vocals for this section, as well as the lilting piano. They do plan to do a live version together at some point.

Hey Larry, Aurora just also released a stripped down live version of the song Temporary High on KZfaq (VEVO). Maybe you want to check that out. The album version is of course great, too. But i think the "acoustic" versions of her songs are showing the pure core of them a bit better. Love to see you back on track !

The French part of this song were written and sung by French artist Pomme (Claire Pommet). They didn't actually meet face-to-face until just last month. Aurora has been singing the French part in concert, though. I'm pretty sure Aurora still lives in Norway, in her apartment in Bergen. I don't think you could pry her out of Norway. It's amazing that she's been songwriting in English since she first learned the language at 9 or 10 years old!

Loved that. Loved that you loved it because, like you, I find this song utterly mesmerizing and so creative with words, so well produced and arranged. French artist Pomme, (very fascinating, same age as Aurora) is the lead vocalist on the French part. I like it when you comment on the details, like that brilliant outro. That single piano note in the end......Well, there are quite a few videos to the album. Giving in to the Love and Cure for Me are the two next songs on the album, and you'll find excellent videos for both. There are also official videos for Exist for Love and A temporary High, and a live video for Heathens. I must say, I find this album brilliant. Hope you do.

Hello Chris, it's good to see you healthy again. AURORA wouldn't be AURORA without her lyrics. Her lyrics are the most important thing. She could have used her ideas and thoughts in poems. But who reads poetry these days? She's too smart for that. She knows that music is much more suitable for this. And this talent was also given to her. The new album: I was quite excited to see if she would be able to live up to my high expectations. The previously released songs were already great. “Giving into the love”: The music video with the statues of the gods is truly divine. “Cure for me”: This cheerfulness of the music - even though she is hurt. “Exist for love”: For me this is the best love song I know. And music is almost always about love. The text is pure poetry. The music and her singing make it perfect. “Heathens”: Another incredibly profound lyrics. And the new songs? Did they meet my expectations? Yes and no. - Yes - they are all great. How does she do that??? - No - I was expecting different music, different kind of singing. But can one expect a certain kind of music, of singing, from AURORA? NO!! The music is chosen to support the lyrics as much as possible. I could have known, no, should have known. And she didn't disappoint me in any way. It's different than expected - but - so - much - better. That's AURORA - unexpected and perfect in the smallest detail. How she emphasizes certain words, which instruments she uses. The accordion (Artemis) surprised me too. Also the two songs that sound so much like westerns (Blood in the wine, A little place called the moon). I was very moved by two songs that may sound inconspicuous to many at first glance. - "You keep me crawling" - I find the thought of someone oppressing someone else unbearable. Unfortunately, that happens often enough. I understand the text literally, since AURORA speaks of "Lord". For me it's about the oppression by the church. However, faith and church are two things for me. - "Exhale Inhale" - This is "The Seed 2.0". Just as impressive in the lyrics as in the music and her singing. When I woke up briefly last night, I had "A temprary high" in my ear and hummed it softly. This one obviously hit me too. Warm Greetings from Germany

To offer some context. This is the first (true) song on the album. To me, this is a mission statement for the entire album. We are told that everything matters to Aurora. Thus as the album goes on to explore the beauty of love. The Dangers of love. The soft and the hard. The pure and the unpure of our instincts and everything in between - this first song is there - everything matters. It is almost as an advice: Listen when the song feels happy as much as when the song feels sad. There is a message in everyone that will make sense. Aurora has always juxtapositioned emotions. Mostly inside a single song. Here she does it on an entire cohesive album. As a fellow Norwegian - I like that she writes her images almost directly translated from how we would say it in Norwegian. To give a silly example: When seriously shocked about something - a Norwegian idiom is "pull me backwards into my birdcage" (meaning I was definitely not prepared for that). Oh - I think you may be mixing up Angelina Jordan (that lives in LA) with Aurora who lives in Bergen with her bookshelf that smells wonderful 😀 . I know it must be impossible to keep track of the Norwegian song-birds (I have noticed that reacting to old Sissel Kykjebø is taking off on the reacting scene, then is Sigrid and Susann Sundfør, and the vocalist of "high as a kite" that I can not remember the name of right now. To counter this idea that only girls sing in Norway - allow me to distract you with a band on Norwegian dudes who also discuss profound emotional subject matters. Let me introduce you to Norwegian prog-metal going full-on art on the battle their singer has had with anxiety and depression. I will be kind and start quietly for you. Castaway Angels kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bpuUpc9qktLVgok.html&ab_channel=InsideOutMusicTV Einar has tears of blood in his vocals as a grown man fighting to be himself while battling the demons inside him. This is prog-rock battling for survival with a line-up so technically perfect that they do all that the best prog-rock bands do, with a drummer that is frankly alien (as you will discover if you search up more) that can as a band outplay black metal bands (because they mostly came out of Scandinavian metal). Do not remove your attention from Norwegian female musicians. Know we are represented by a few men who make grown-ass men cry the bravest of tears. I will not leave you without linking to them performing live to demonstrate that they hold up without studio magic. So here is "Acquired Taste" live on stage kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iZOjnZVz1ajNgY0.html&ab_channel=TinaReggie No man above 15 who had an existential thought in their life will say "this is just metal". This is hard prog-rock going so existential that it is almost not bearable to listen to. And it is also so beautiful for fans of all the classical composers going full-on massive emotional in their Requiems or Adagios. I look forward to you diving deeper into Aurora's album, Larry. (As a whole it is almost like a concept album from the 70's, I think). Thanks.

Lyrics are so poetic and speaks to my soul and my imagination (and meaning for this one is pretty clear for me. but dont want to make this post too long :) ). New Album is for sure very different then previous ones. It is also diverse and differently produced. BTW I especially like from new album: Everything Matters, Exhale Inhale, Blood in the Wine, Everything Matters, Heathens, You Keep me Crawling, Innocent and these are my favorite from new album. Ps. Hi, Chris ! Yes, this is a strange one, indeed. It's still growing on me, but takes some getting used to for sure. And It makes you think like crazy. LOL I believe Aurora is smiling when she thinks about all the people trying to analyze it and find the deeper meaning. It's as if her lyrics are teasing you, giving you hints, but never disclosing anything, in TRUE Aurora style. This is musically beautiful, but far from my favorite on her new album. The voice you heard in the end belongs to the French artist Pomme. Btw, guess who tested positive for Covid 2 days ago ? So far, it's like an average case of the flu, so not too bad. Love your content. So refreshing to see a person who is genuinely interested in different genres. Also wholesome to see your reaction to new music and artist. Good luck for the future and hope for more reactions! I strongly recommend try listening to some music done by Joyner Lucas for example “I’m Sorry” It is such a powerful song. It means a lot for me especially because it takes up the increasing suicide rates in the world, and has helped me vent out my frustration and as well sadness of losing my best friend due to depression. Would love to hear your thoughts about it.

So good that you are back with an Aurora and that you are feeling better ! Her new album it’s just amazing 🤩. Honestly there is nothing I don’t like about it. It is so sophisticated. I recommend you to look at her mini concert/ artistic performance A Touch Of A Divine that she did live on Moment House for this album. It is amazing 😍 find link here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/a5eVobxz0Ly4hWw.html

its funny you mention about the language here. i had a friend who was portuguese (by birth and family) and of course first language (at first) was portuguese, but as he grew to learn english and became his main spoken language i asked him once, do you think in portuguese then translate and he said no, he thinks in english and if hes talking to his family translates into portuguese

You should check out Nightwish if you aren’t familiar with them. Ghost Love Score at Wacken is a common place to start, Shoemaker or Pan might also be good, somewhat similar to this.

This song live and funny 😁 kzfaq.info/get/bejne/sNB-hsh2z5zMaGw.html Aurora gave another great interview. Very entertaining. If you are interested. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/q7SbfseK2tfIZ2g.html Pomme sings the French part. This is like in the title is a featuring. Nevertheless, you are right, because live Aurora also sings this part alone. That's what she learned from Pomme. And Aurora once said in an interview that it is important to her to be able to speak at least a few sentences in any language when touring in the respective country.

Glad you’re feeling better! There is a fascinating documentary on Aurora from 2018 that is a must see. It’s called “Once”. It’s mostly in Norwegian, but it’s all subtitled in English. Whether or not you choose to do a reaction video to it, I highly recommend you watch it! Keep these great videos coming!! kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gLqJi9p8y7Xanqs.html

here is a tip for u. react to videos from other countries. there are subtitles in most song nowadays. You will attract a lot of new viewers from all around the world. I can advice starting with Turkish rap which is very popular nowadays. Also I can recommend this 15 minutes long political rap song called "Susamam" from Saniser and 15 other rap artists.
