The first time i listened to this song, it came up on shuffle while i was studying. I had to stop studying because I was too emotional... actually, I stopped studying for a whole hour as I listened to it on repeat. I love the first line, “They say there is a war between the man and the woman…” I think what holds us back from giving into love is fear and distrust - it’s like we feel we have to constantly fight for ourselves, and we forget to fight for each other. And that begins to look a lot like fighting each other. To be a human loving other humans is probably the purest form of freedom. It’s like embracing that we’re each one of billions in a species, and we’re all as small as each other, but when we give each other love, we become big and more powerful than any obstacle we could ever face. Love is a laying down of weapons, it’s an admission that we can’t always be strong alone, but also a promise to find strength as a whole, all together, as human. Getting to that position is tough and scary, but it’s also beautiful and rewarding. This song really made me realise just how important love is.

The men on the other hand... unfortunately there is a war, and its not up for women to decide to end it, since we didn't start it in the first place, men did. it wasnt long ago when women were not allowed to make any decisions in their lifes and were dependent on men around them (and it is still true for many women around the world unfortunately).

Aurora said that, at first, "Exist for Love" was about a specific person, however, it became something way bigger than her and her lover from the moment it wasn't only a song to remind how beautiful love is anymore, but also a song meant to make those who listen to it feel loved if they can't be wrapped by this kind of love at the moment, for some reason. That's why she directed this music video herself - she wanted to make sure that she could look at the camera in a way that we can feel that all this love is towards us. And when love somehow fades away from our lives, or becomes unreachable or one-sided, this song could be a painful memory. But it isn't. This song is more than that. It's a shelter.

I've been a fan of Aurora from her starting as an artist here in Norway. And my experience have been that the haters and their comments are less and less visible over the years, the more fans and recognition she has gotten. Her fanbase grows faster than the haters, so they simply drown in all the positivety and love her fans bring. So I would'nt worry too much :)

Fun facts: Aurora wrote this song in 2017 when she was in love. The sound is from an old demo tape, she didn't want to lose the emotional aspect of this original recording, so she keeps it. The violins were put on afterwards. Her costume was made by her sister, Victoria, from old clothes and other objects found in Aurora's apartment. Aurora's other sister, Miranda, was in charge of the makeup. Aurora made the pearl necklace from pearls she found in her closet. As mentioned, Aurora Directed the video. The whole project took 10 hours. The girls dancing, is two of Auroras friends. She said the empty seats are because this isn't a show, it is how she feels, there is no one watch. Oh, and she plays harp so that is what you are hearing. AND THIS IS DONE IN FIRST TAKE ITSELF. SHE IS A GODDESS

It's not a coincidence. She uses an old demo tape for this video, recorded when she was in love (2017 I think). She was afraid that the emotional aspect would be lost if she tried to make a new recording.

I don't know if this was Aurora's intention, but the whole aesthetic reminds me of Botticelli's "Birth of Venus"and some sort of 1920's vibe. It makes me miss some decade that I didn't live in and also fills my chest with a spontaneous delightful happiness.
