Laura's still the best soprano I've ever heard. Such a full and smooth voice. Edit: the "watching little things grow" went totally over my head when I played in the pit for this show in high school. Wow. Laura's glance and the audience chuckle here really help clarify the joke.

Laura has talked in interviews about how her toddler daughter is obsessed with Frozen, so it’s pretty funny that she actually worked with Kristen Bell

The crazy thing is that Laura is only a year or so older than Kristen (in this production they'd be 25 and 24, respectively)

Michelle Nicastro also gave a spot-on singing performance playing Anne in the 1991 production of the show in Los Angeles with Glynis Johns as Madame Armfelt this time around. The best staging of "A Weekend in the Country" was the South Coast Repertory's production in OC, California. Wish there was video of that production.

New York City Opera revived its "Night Music" in 2003, and from that production Kudisch, Pawk, Boevers, and Gurwin all repeated their roles in L.A. the following year. Benanti and Bell were only seen L.A.

@soopersalad2509
@soopersalad2509 6 жыл бұрын
LieslJones59 i am worried that more and more producers/casting directors are casting pop singers in musical theatre roles that demand much more than those singers are equipped with... it just is not the same as hiring someone who fits the part both character wise and talent wise. just imagine an elphbaba who sings breathy and without any support and flat.... or a jenna who skips over all of the high notes.... even pop/rock musicals require a lot of discipline proper technique stamina and longevity. part of why i love musicals is it can sound deceivingly easy when done by the right people, but it hardly ever is just “easy”. but i really hope they realize they don’t need to hire famous ppl who aren’t right for the role to attract audiences. why sacrifice art for attention?

That's such an overstament. Besides, stunt casting is usually only used to try to prolong a shows run. Most people cast in shows are not stunt cast, and even if they were that doesn't mean they're bad. Josh Gorban was very good in Great Comet, for instance
