If you are struggling financially that much that you are borrowing money from your brother& relying on subs, yet still spending money on alcohol then you got a drink issue that needs addressing. You can still have a problem even if you ain’t downing beers at 10am. Pattaya isn’t the place to settle for those with an unhealthy relationship with alcohol it only ever ends one way.

I checked the rules about getting the Age Pension. You have to be RESIDENT in Australia when you apply. But the pension is not "portable" until at least 2 years after the grant of it. So you need to stay in Australia for at least 2 years after the grant. Also, if they think you are only coming back to Australia to claim the pension and then return to Thailand, then it may not be granted or it could be cancelled after the grant of the Pension. Getting your super is not easy either. So, if you think it will be easy to get your super, be prepared for a fight to prove you are entitled to get early withdrawal of your super. They will be querying your residence and other personal circumstances to see if you are eligible.

Hey Palmy, loving your channel, mate. I want to express my opinion regarding older expats going broke in Thailand. Everyone seems to have a complex luck story, and we should all feel sorry for them. If an expat is broke, they need to return to Australia. The viewers are all in Australia, slaving at often terrible jobs to support themselves and visiting for a few weeks of freedom each year. It's totally unfair to expect anyone to help or assist. If you're under financial stress, return home. I get so frustrated listening to complex luck stories when I am slaving in Australia; you have choices: live there broke or return and rebuild. This isn't directed at anyone in particular, and I think your situation with the bar is very different. Just talking about these situations in general.
