Charlie's Pride was dug up last year in October. So, this show is well over a year old. Still, that would've given them a great 2021 xmas.

The Victoria Diggers were stopped from mining because some government body suddenly decided that Carlie's Gully had historic significant. That was after the guys had bought the land, applied for were granted a licence to mine and paid for equipment such as an excavator, a wash plant, metal detectors etc. As far as I know they are appealing the decision via the legal system, but I don't think they have had an outcome yet.

@@stever1053 That nugget I’m going to assume went to paying off the property and equipment, they haven’t been digging that land for long.. they had an approved licence of which was revoked.. So they can no longer dig and find that sort of gold..

@@stever1053 Not long after this they had to stop all mining on their lease as the state government came in and put a heritage order on it. They still have bills to pay and have no land to mine. This footage shown is from a few years back.

@@subsist99 This sounds like pressure from a very high authority protecting gold prices. If the license wasn't revoked and they found huge volumes, the price would tumble. The license would then be given to another party
