They're acting. Re-ACT-ion. I daresay they had already found it. Just like at 4:27 where the rock has obviously already been split and he's just holding it against the saw. However, there's no fake acting that massive haul of beautiful Yowah nuts and that boulder is something so gorgeous, I would love to be able to look at something like that every day.

Doesn't cutting it down the middle in half seem weird? like you're taking a big opal inside and basically cutting its size in half, doesn't that take down a lot of the value?

Most "opals" are not stones like gems. They are set as a doublet or triplet opal or even boulder style, as slices of colour, so the cutting in half would be done anyway. Opals are not faceted like gemstones to make large gems.

Why do they throw fortunes away by cutting them down the middle? What could have been shaped into a perfect sphere of an opal becomes two halves. By cutting them in half - they are taking beautiful gemstone which COULD have had potential to be molded and shaped into a symmetrical form - and ruin it instead. Can someone explain this? I'm probably missing something vital here.
