UnBoxing Duratrax 835E 1/8 Scale Electric Buggy
This is my first look at the New Duratrax 835E. I wanted something to compare against the Buggy8 from Ofna and within the same price point. This buggy looks to be just that and should make a good comparison.
Keep a look out for running videos soon...
Thanks for watching and have fun out there...

Sick but cranking out videos-- that's dedication!! Nice buggy- seems very reasonable. The flame design looks great. The chassis looks on par with other buggies. Another good first look-- can't wait till the run. Could be a good deal for my kid. Get well.

Haha, I know, it's not ready. I'm so disappointed. I was really hoping to have it in this video, but I couldn't wait until next week to post this up. It's a new RC and it needed to be shown. I have another RC coming and should be here by next week, so the intro might be ready by then. But the old intro is dead and I no longer want to use it.

I have only driven the 835E once and I already like it better than the Buggy8. It's much faster, handles better, has better tyres, is water resistant and seems to be more durable. Also, it's easier to change batteries on the 835E than on the Buggy8 - not a big deal to some people, but it is to me. Thanks

Hmm, I don't remember recommending a Serpent. I've never owned one. But as slideshow1177 has mentioned, the RC8.2 will be great option. Parts should be available across most hobby shops if you don't want to buy online. As for your comment about me buying cars from overseas; I buy cars that I think people are interested in. The world is quite small these days and where I buy them from is of no bother to me. As long as I can get parts support and I can afford them, I'll buy them from anywhere. :)

Yes, I have. I used to have a nitro many years ago and hated every minute of it. One side of me swore never to touch those nightmares again, but another side of me wants to give it another go. If I do decide to get an RC other than electric, I would be more inclined to go petrol - not nitro! Thanks

Tell me about it, this year has been terrible for me, too much crap weather, too much work, heaps of new equip, but no time to use it :( so keen to shoot a heap of running vids at various tracks. My local shop has a new indoor track being built at the moment so the weather wont stop me :)

Yes, this buggy is worth getting. There are already plenty of spares out there already as it is based off the Nitro version, which has been around for a while now. Plus, you have the Duratrax "Stress Tech" warranty in case things go wrong out on the track. But for $400 you can't go wrong. However, if you can spend a little more, go for the Team Associated RC8.2e. It's a better platform and there are tuns of spares available for it. Hope that helps. :)

Do u still have this 835E?
@AussieRCPlayground
@AussieRCPlayground 10 ай бұрын
@gforce9888 no, I sold this years ago. I kinda regret selling it cause I didn't get much for it and it would be cool to still have something this old now. It's a car from an era in the hobby I kinda miss - before everything was 6S or 8S and before 1/7 and 1/6 scale cars became common place. For a 4S car, this buggy was actually quite good.

If you've got a motor/esc combo ready to go, just grab an Associated RC8.2e kit and build it from scratch. You'll end up with a much better car that you can also race.

I can't say, I'm sorry, I don't have the LX2e. But my experience with the Ofna Buggy8 was pretty poor, mainly because of the motor. If you do decide to buy the LX2e, I would buy the roller and not the RTR. I have heard some good feed back on the LX2e, so maybe it's just a better buggy than the Buggy8. Thanks

I saw your vid of the Ofna buggy8e and asked you if theyre in OZ. You told me not to bother and to get the serpent rtr. I love the look of this too. I take is this is not an Aussie car? You seem to buy american cars alot do you h ave to get most parts in U.S? Im still trying to choose an 8th scale, The serpent looked great but cant fit a big motor. Im wanting to run 6s and have a motor esc upgrade already. (Tekin Gen 2 RX8 and 1700kv t8 which is 42 x 76mm (Same size as Mamba). Hard to choose.

what would be the difference in one 3s and one 4s i have to save my money for a 4s what do you think of the hobby king's 4s lipo batteries are they any good
@AussieRCPlayground
@AussieRCPlayground 10 жыл бұрын
Well, the Hobby King batteries I've been using have been fine. I have had a couple of them fail prematurely, but that comes with the territory when you pay $20-$30 for a pack. I would recommend them, but just keep in mind that you get what you pay for. But if I were you, I would buy 2x2S packs rather than one 4S. This way you can use the 2S packs in other cars.
