The hotcakes used to be cooked fresh but around 18 years ago (God im old!!) They started coming in pre-packaged and microwaved hence why the wait time for fresh hotcakes has gone from 6minutes to 60seconds

As an ex Macca's employee from almost 20 years ago, I can tell you the hotcakes were cooked fresh on the grill. They changed to pre packaged hotcakes a few years back. I'm assuming to provide quick service and consistency.

In NZ we have big brekkie beef burger. It’s basically the same thing that Zotti done with his muffin and hash except our sauce in NZ is bbq. Also I’m so disappointed in how they ate their hot cakes like don’t disrespect it like that 😂😂 You have to stack them up and on each cake put butter then syrup and stab some slits so it can soak up the syrup 🤤 Never cared for hot cakes until I done it like this and now it’s one of my favourites.

@@jackiewright7795 I was disappointed not to see any macgriddles as well! For those who've never had them, the bread is like a thicker pancake, with little pockets of maple syrup in every bite. Sweet and delicious, with the salty bacon breakfast sandwich (or sausage). It's been my favorite order for years!

Ok my order (as an ex employee + Australia): sausage and egg McMuffin (ask for fresh egg and sausage) with a hash brown that goes inside the McMuffin + any of the iced lattes (caramel, hazelnut, white choc - depends on my mood)

Yessss Zotti! Hash brown in the muffin is where it’s at. My order is: sausage mccmuffin meal, add bacon and mcchicken sauce, iced latte or iced mocha, extra hash brown (so 2 in total one goes in the muffin) and a side of large fries because fries are essential any time of day.

Mighty mcmuffin with a hash brown on it is a winner! I love when you go and ask for mighty mcmuffin but they say they don't have them but then you order it as a sausage and egg add 2xbacon cheese and relish and they like yeah no problem 🤣🤤 I get that with an extra hash brown, hotcakes and an OJ.

Perfect breaky order is sausage mcmuffin with extra sausage patty extra cheese add bacon tomato relish with mayonaise sachet over the top then a two hashbrowns one added to the muffin the other with a side of tomato relish then a latte to finish it off its like the double cheeseburger of the breakfast menu

As an ex maccas crew trainer, they are frozen together in a box in which we put the 3 pancakes together in the white tray then chilled to defrost. When they are defrosted, they are put under the shelf during breakfast then microwaved when ordered.

The hotcakes are from a package and heated up in a microwave. The round eggs and scramble are fresh cracked eggs. But the folded egg is from a package.

They call it "hot cake syrup" because its not made from actual maple trees. Its made with Fructose or as we have it here in the US, HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP.

Not sure about today's McDonald's but here in the states back in the day. I made the pan cakes fresh to order and tray after tray of biscuits in the early 90's
