When I saw this movie for the first time I became obsessed with Elvis and Austin. That was June of 2022. It is ongoing. I can't stop. I'm 77 years old and was a Beatles fan in my teens. I cried at the end of Elvis. So sad that I never new him. I'm also sad that Baz was not recognized for the hard work he did to bring Elvis back to life. No Baz no movie!! I will always love this production and all the people involved in creating It. Thank you!

Yes the same for me I always liked Elvis since I was nine years old ❤ now im 71 years old and im obsessed with my gorgeous Elvis ❤ I loved the movie 😢 Baz . Astin did an amazing work ❤❤❤

((((Yes)))) I’m so grateful to read about the kindred spirits in this space with me. I have had to tone down my Elvis references with my friends & fam because I know they think I’m 😵‍💫. From the beginning it’s been a journey of both Elvis and Austin. How did Elvis be Elvis. Who was this white guy in the violent segregation of the Deep South at that time…who just didn’t give a f@ck. If he wanted to wear lace and eye shadow he did. If he wanted to hang out on Beale street and play at “colored nights” he did. If he wanted to exude joy, sex and passion on stage…he did. I been trying to understand the whole development of his life with the poverty and the diverse community and the spirituality… Elvis was a rebel with a cause. Maybe not always known to him but certainly felt by masses of others. Like his idol James Dean, Elvis was himself a creative genius. Learning all this, I can’t help to wonder what else I don’t know. What else have I dismissed or reduced or have been incurious about? My experience of Austin is similar in that I didn’t expect any of this from him. I hadn’t even heard of Austin Butler before this movie. Hearing about his intense passion and dedication…his willingness to go to the precipice. And then learning about Denzel, Washington calling Baz. DENZEL WASHINGTON???!!! HOW??? Who do you have to be to have Denzel Washington call on your behalf? Im in awe of Austin’s fearful fearlessness. He has heart. I’m rambling. Baz set out to tell this story of America. And boy, my boy did he. I’ll close with this. I’m a 56 year old Black, queer woman who had to tell her 17 year old son that the only thing I wanted for Christmas was a work shirt from Graceland with crown electric patch on one pocket and Elvis’s name on the other. My kid came thru and on Christmas Day he got to see his mama jump around like an excited 6 year old.

The film was the catalyst for my daughter’s now loving Elvis. Even went to Graceland. Loved the film and how it’s brought so much love to the best entertainer EVER. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I never loved a movie so much as Elvis movie for some one like me who was not a big Elvis fan thinking wow how great Elvis was how impressed by him never be anyone like him again because of Austin and baz l became a fan Austin to me did a amazing phenomenal job l have alot of respect for both of them after l saw movie we talk about it for weeks even my husband who is not a Elvis fan was very impressed and said now that's a Oscar worthy movie l have never heard him say that before for l will follow Austin in everything he does he is so talented humble no one could have done a better job this is made for him and nobody else l really believe that

This popped up on my KZfaq and I thought,”Why is this coming up now?” Then I saw it had loaded 4 hours previously, on October 13,2023. What a wonderful gift to those of us that adore Elvis, adore Austin and adore the relationship between Baz and Austin. Thank you, whoever did this. It means a great deal to so many people around the world. But, I feel an ache because I’m reminded again that “performance of a lifetime” deserved to receive the Academy Award.

I loved the movie and Austin did the most amazing job of portraying Elvis. Elvis was such a unique and over-the-top man and entertainer. Austin captured every element perfectly. I have watched the movie seven times and each time I love it more and I am more blown away each time by Austin's portrayal.

And as for Buz Thank U so very much for having and helping Austin do this movie ,Of Elvis' in the movie ,U are a Wonderful movie maker ,and between U and Austin and all those who were in the ELVIS movie were all just so unbelievable bunch of actors and people that helped make the movie ,BEST Movie that I have ever seen in my whole life and I am 73 years old ,and besides the movies ,Gone With the Wind and Titanic none better ,but they are Great but ELVIS ,movie was really the best ,of all ❤️! stuff the Oscar Award, to us Elvis fans, Elvis is still Alive and loved in our lives as well as it is 2023., and loved around the World. He has gained more fans from this movie, thanks to Baz, Austin and everyone involved.. Thank you, and Oscar can shove their award where the sun dont shine.. This young man put soo much into this movie, but just typical of Hollywood they treated Elvis the same with these Awards when he was alive.. Viva La Elvis, Austin, Baz and all involved to keep Elvises memories and his music alive for next generation and next generation and soo on.

I have to add my thanks along with the others in the comments for posting this interview. I've watched all the interviews on youtube and this is one of the special ones. Thank you to Baz for giving Austin the environment and belief. Thank you to Austin for everything you are and have given us. Austin was robbed, plain and simple. But everyone knows HE gave the best performance of the year. He won every other important award except the Oscar and the SAG--where performance wasn't the consideration, but something else. I know he will go on to give other Oscar-worthy performances and will win. But he's already won. I'm not quite sure how to express this, but I think that he must feel that doing what he did/does so well and so successfully and touching so many people is his true rewared and satisfaction.

Just a wonderful movie and I rediscovered Elvis and so happy to now watch his performances & listen to his music and no entertainer today could even match his brilliance !!!! What an incredible movie! I was not an Elvis fan nor a movie fan in general but this one was amazing. I find myself walking around humming all the songs all day. Austin is the most beautiful man I’ve ever seen and I literally cry at the unchained melody finale every time. Screw the academy, Austin is people choice 💯

Yo he visto la película d Elvis 45 veces y m sigo preguntando que le paso a la academia en no darle ni un oscar a los 8 wue estaba nominada oscar se ha de aver revolcado en su tumba por esta innusticia que hicieron con la obra maestra d baz lurhmann pero lo bueno es que esta película austin y baz ganaron varios premios importante y el corazon d millones d personas y aunque ya paso tiempo sigo diciendo la actualización d Brendan freezer esta a años luz d la magistral y sublime y perfecta acttuacion d AUSTIN BUTLER como elvis Presley bi todas las películas premiadas y sr. Tengo 72 años m enamore primero d la música d los Beatles porque Elvis no se escuchana mucho en México por el rumor d que ablo mal d las mexicanas lo cual nunca fue cierto hizo películas con Dolores de el rio y Katy jurado ambas mexicanas he hizo una película creo se llama acapulco y en aquellos años le negaron la visa aqui en México por ese chisme que hixo un político mexicano porque Elvis no pudo venir a cumplir un capricho d la hija d este político pero yo viendo la película como lo mencione antes se que baz cambió un poco algunas ecenas pero todo fue tal y como paso en la vida d Elvis Presley sino pricila hubiera dicho esto no esta bien y bueno ahora traigo en mi teléfono las canciones d la película y otras d Elvis tiene varias muy hermosas gracias sr . Austin was definitely robbed of the Oscar, unfortunately the academy always gives it to the sob story. I have become obsessed with Austin since seeing the movie in June 2022, I have watched the movie 74 times so far. As well as being absolutely gorgeous he is such a special human inside and out. I can't wait for The Bikeriders movie to come out on December 1st and to see him on the big screen again.

Exactly the academy was on a redemption tour look at the 4 major categories everyone was people who they thought were over due for an Oscar. Plus with Brendan they did have the extra bonus of the groping from the Hollywood executive. But most people throughout the world knows the award was definitely meant for Austin he gave a once in a lifetime Oscar performance but got robbed of the Oscar. I truly hope Baz releases on DVDs the 4 hour version of the movie plus the DVD full of all the full stage performances Austin performed.

M acabo d enterar que según no le dieron el Oscar a Austin Butler porque según es su primer protagónico cuando hace muchos años a Tatum Onil era una niña y le dieron el Oscar en su primer protagónico y primero dijeron que se lo dieron a Brendan freezer por su tema d la violación y no se que otras cosas a mi Brendan m cae muy bien pero sus películas son palomeras y su actuación actuación d la ballena es buena pero está a años Luis d lo que hizo Austin Butler en Elvis ví todas las películas premiadas y la verdad la academia tiene años muy mal Elvis merecía en todas las categorías un Oscar y para muestra un botón Austin recibió muchos premios y la película un aplauso d 15 minutos en el festival de Cannes así sr. Baz lurhmann y todo su equipo y Austin Butler sienta se orgullosos por está obra maestra llamada Elvis que pasará a la historia como la mejor película d Elvis Presley y mejor película d 2022 los amo a todos ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I'm still upset for him not getting the Oscar. I'm convinced the decision had more to do with "sentimental" reasons than based on really recognizing the greatness of the performances that were nominated. But the beauty of life is that Austin is an amazing gifted actor and will continue his amazing journey and will continue delighting us with his talent ❤so is BAZ! C'mon 8 Nominations and didn't get ANY??? Pathetic Oscar Awards this year...
