We first recorded with Austin last summer on the Vans Warped Tour but knew that we definitely wanted further messages from him as he is just an amazing speaker. I hope this isn't the end of the messages that we record with him.

This man has been my prime inspiration ever since I discovered OM&M. He's got a heart of gold. He's the main reason I want to be in a band. When I met him, I told him that he'd see me on stage one day, doing what he does. Which is saving lives by the thousands with my music. He's also who got me to stop cutting. He told me, "If I made it through, then I know you can." I will always view Austin Carlile as a god among men. He's a hero to millions of people. And he's gonna stay that way.

you can see that when he talks about the kids that bullied him in highschool he's about to cry so he stops talking for a couple of seconds. I admire Austin so much really, he's one of my biggest inspirations, but with this video we realise that bullying is something that will affect you all your life, those memories haunt you. but I'm so proud of Austin because he's a sucessful man that saves a lot of life's throught his band. and he proved bullies wrong.

Finally someone reaching out to his mountain of fans who maybe relate to bullying, and actually being a idol to look up to! A very good post Patrick :-). Wise words. What a lovely young man.

I love how he genuinely cares a lot about all his fans and takes time to talk to his fans through social media and in person. I feel like multiple singers really don't care about their fans as much as they could. But austin knows what a lot of us are going through and that is why Austin Carlisle is truly an inspiration and my idol! ❤️

Although I don't really listen to his music, Austin really does seem like one of the most genuine people I've ever seen. That's what I love about these bands, they're made up of some of the best people. I can kind of relate with a lot of the music and the people that make the music and I just love them all so much.

I know what you mean. I was talking about OM&M at school, and some of my friends thought I was talking about "Of Monsters and Men." When they found out who I was talking about, one of my friends gave me this look that was like, "Oh...so that's what you're like?" She made it seem like metalcore/screamo/punk/whatever genre OM&M is in was bad or somewhat satanic. It hurt, but it definitely won't change my views on this AMAZING band.
@charliehabboon986010 жыл бұрын
They're not really "friends" if they judge you
@cassandraeaton84510 жыл бұрын
I literally lost friends because I love this band so much and they said things like "I thought you were a nice person but you like that satanic shit." But lets be honest I'm better off without them. :)
@swedishfolkrap317510 жыл бұрын
It's so sad bc Of Mice & Men isn't satanic.
@cassandraeaton84510 жыл бұрын
That's exactly my point, especially because they've helped me and many other people through things, such as depression. So why hate them? If you genuinely hate something, leave it alone, and ignore it, rather than saying something hurtful to someone who likes it. It just doesn't make sense.

He is so fucking awesome he is one of the reasons why I wanna be in a band. Just having fun, going crazy on stage, but MOST IMPORTANTLY HELP CUTTERS AND SUICIDERS MANY OF MY FRIENDS DO IT. AND I SWORE THAT I WILL GO THROUGH ALMOST ANYTHING TO HELP MILLIONS WHO DO IT. I love you Austin no homo. Ur my inspiration

He's right. You can really let out your anger with things like art and music. I'm being bullied at my school and I absolutely hate it, but I don't release my anger in a negative way. I use music to make me feel better. I get lost in the music and forget about everything else in the world. I shows me that I could be very successful in playing guitar and that the people at my school are wrong. I really thank Austin for helping me to get through being bullied. It has showed me that you need to be true to yourself and not to accept what other people say you are, but to accept what YOU say you are. You are awesome Austin!

I've just been speaking to a stranger on blahtherapy.com about being bullied. My Computer died and I feel awful as there's no way of knowing if she got my last messages. She sent me this link and said that this video had been helping her a lot. I hope she comes back on here and see's this message. Good luck with the future! Listen to what he's saying, because it's all true. Before you know it, you'll realize that people who don't have a positive effect on your life are forgotten about very quickly! X

I would love and do anything to see Of mice and Men, I'm 21 and get bullied for being transgender, I was born female but I've felt male my whole life.I'm not skinny I was told I to starve, that I'll never make something out of myself. I was had the Shit end of the stick, my adoptive mother who is my mommy dies and my birth mother comes back to my life and tortures me. I hate my life and for going on three years I chose to self-harm been institutions, I thank the bands that I listen to. They've helped. Though, I'm not going to lie some of them didn't save me from self-harm. I still struggle. I have urges. But I try not to do it. The song You're Not Alone I listen to it as a ritual now twice a day, and it helps me to slowly ease the pain. Call me an obsessed fan, but I am alone and those words made me feel that someone is there, just not physically, but there is someone.
