Austin is one of those wrestlers you could beat 7-0 but your body and mind after the match feel like you lost 7-0.
@cgmoran918 ай бұрын
Agree. He may not beat everyone, but everyone who faces him goes through a battle. He has beaten 4 NCAA champs. (Some after winning, some who would go on to win Lee, RBY) After college he beat his 5th NCAA champ in Nathon Garret. He also is 1-1 with Stephen Micic the year he made it to the NCAA finals. Micic also is a current 57kg world champ.

Pennsylvania putting out amazing wrestlers. Austin was a monster his senior year. States was something else. Lots of talent in the arena that night but you could see he belonged with the big boys. Very happy for him regardless of what the future holds.

Austin thank u once again for putting on a show, we appreciate it, your not like so many dang wrestlers who want to feel out there opponents for the first 3 freaking minutes, you might not have 1 pr even 2 ncaa championships but you will be remembered forever for your style of wrestling, there are so many ncaa Champs that have done just enough to win and those guys won't be remembered, you didn't win one but your nastiness on the mat is what us fans will remember thank u, and best of luck in your future endeavors

I'll remember him as one of the dirtier wrestlers in college. He also was really emotionally immature but, hes looking a lot better and I'm hoping he continues on the current path or channeling that aggression in the right direction and rewriting his reputation. His pace is admirable. Hoping his knee is okay, although he's also been known to get mysterious injuries when someone is about to score on him.

I wish they'd revise the back exposure rules. That you can literally expose your own back without exposing your opponent's is just silly. I realise international wrestling will never be folk style, but the product they put out there is the reason they've been on the chopping block of Olympic sports. The leg lace is a skill, for sure, but it's a dubious one, and certainly not worth two points, even if Desanto gritted his out in this match.
