This has to be one of the most beautiful piano pieces I’ve ever heard

About 2 months ago my wife and I were chilling on our phones in bed, when I heard this song come from her phone. I glanced over to see a short clip of a sheep giving birth in the prairies and grooming the trembling little lamb, to the accompaniment of this song. The clip was maybe 20 seconds long, but in that span I went from stable neutral to ugly crying, something I never do, which alarmed my wife since in 8 years she has only seen my cry twice, at my grandmothers funeral and after practicing our first dance a week before my wedding, where I was overcome with joy. For what felt like 10 minutes I couldn't verbalize anything, I just convulsed breathlessly while my wife tried to comfort me while trying to get to the bottom of why I was crying. The most distant memories I have are of my little self crawling on the floor playing with legos and playmobil with my mom in a quiet apartment in the countryside of Belgium. There was no music, just walls around us, just the two of us connecting and seeing the love in each others eyes, intimacy between a mother and her son in the purest form. No one witnessed these moments, only my mom and I and my mom being an adult doesn't remember every waking moment of her life, so doesn't recall some of these memories. In other words I am the only keeper of this memory, it has not happened as far as everyone else is concerned, it is just a dream. And as this dream triages itself amidst the heap of memories forming all around everyday, my conscious access to it wanes. I get caught up in the whirlwind of my everyday adult existence as my mom lives her life quietly 1000 miles away, where my conscious thought of her wanes too. I do not contemplate her mortality or mine, I attend to making ends meet, and suddenly I hear this music while seeing the beginnings of a mother child bond between a sheep and her lamb and I am consumed by regret for I have not hallowed my sacrosanct loving mother, who thanklessly raised me and beamed with pride as I grew, knowing full well I would not remember those moments, but she will. How I wish I could return to that moment in time and tell her "I am awake, I am here with you, I love you", but I can't. The notes from this piece caressed my soul like my my moms hands caressed my face as she held me in her arms. I have since adopted the ethos when I see her or anyone else that my future self is watching me through its memories. Things haven't changed much other my attention to them intensifies and each goodbye hug has become a fierce embrace, holding each other as if to prevent the current of time from pulling us apart. Unbeknownst to her, I found out yesterday my wife is pregnant, and given my mom's age, this presents a last opportunity to reconnect with this distant dream of mine together. Perhaps she will revisit that memory, and I'll be there waiting for her when she gets there to tell her I was awake the whole time. Thanks Austin for this piece.

I usually hate isolated instruments but this is different, I have been feeling down and burned out for the most part of the past 7 months, I was just scrolling through Instagram reels when I stumbled across this, I didn't even read what was on the reel, I just listened, it was a 7-second loop but it was a very special 7 seconds, it motivated me to get up and start writing where I left off, I got up and grabbed my laptop without any second thoughts. Thank you, even though this boost of motivation is only temporary, I really needed this.
