Beautfiul filmmaker. Dear Roger. Hollywood should have respected him more for his work. He has made more films. Shame on Hollywood shite. They are destorying the film world. He speaks the truth. Very nice man and funny.

But they never mention me or my brother, who won Oscars for visual effects on ALIENS, THE ABYSS, TERMINATOR 2 or BATMAN RETURNS (for which my brother was nominated). Actually, Roger didn't hire Jim Cameron. Chuck Comiskey and I were responsible for interviewing and hiring him. But...Roger got the credit. Roger's stories are generally true, but he does mix up his films. it is not surprising, considering the huge number of films he made. After a while, it all simply blends together.

Roger is a very smart guy. His enemy as an artist is simply a bit too much of a concern about the budget. Sometimes this money concern has blocked him from making only a good film instead of a jaw-dropping classic. MASQUE OF THE RED DEATH, with a touch more time and money, for instance. Or THE INTRUDER. BLOODY MAMA. Even THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER and/or TOMB OF LIGEIA.All of these were ripe for greatness, all of them right on the border of soaring greatness, but...he held back, just a bit. But all of us who have ever worked for him somehow still have an abiding love of the guy. There simply is no one who has ever been in this business who ever LOVED making movies more than Roger Corman.

The story about Jim and the "hamburger containers" is, uh, a, er, ah...not true. The hamburger container thing happened on FORBIDDEN WORLD, which had a completely different art director, Chris Horner, James Horner's brother. Sorry to spoil Roger's tale.
