What you and the world don't understand about Australian music, its not about winning for us. That doesn't move us as a nation or makes us want to dance. What we have been through, when you just want to lay down and die and no one cares. This song, makes me want to live again and dance, finish my life and come back to how I started....coming home Mikalila Australia, One Blood, One Nation, One Life, One earth One universe....One breath from death to life its as easy as breathing in and out....thumbs up to the song.....don't underestimate our nation or our music, we may just surprise you.

I feel like I am one of the only people who love this. I really like the lyrics and their message, the song is deep and is mostly about human nature (an interesting topic for an ESC song), it is catchy, I really love the 80s vibe which makes it captivating and unique for Eurovision this year, the production is incredible even if it is restrained, I love that it is so ethnic and Aboriginal (something we have never done before), I love the digeridoo in the lush and beautiful intro, even though it doesn’t have as much punch as 2000 and Whatever it is still really beautiful and restrained but kinda punchy without it trying to be, the melody is amazing, the video is weird but I get why it is being done for budget saving for staging, I love her voice and yeah it is really good. It does lack punch but so do love its soulful vibe and it isn’t my fave entry from us but I am really satisfied with what we have this year. This will be incredible live and will probably grow on the fandom over time with an incredible performance that they will do as SBS knows how to stage and they will serve for sure and the song has a captivating vibe to it that could be staged really well. So excited for this song and it could qualify but barely. It won’t win but it’ll do mid-table in the final because it stands out ot the televoter due to it being restrained which is a vibe this year doesn’t have much of which will make it stand out to a televoter. This is an 8/10 for me and it could easily have a Gustaph effect and do super well in the end.

I think performance will elevate the song - they may even change some of the production aspects. A lot of people are reacting to this lyric video by comparing it to a slew of released live performances and video clips - not a level playing field. I think the guys released this to focus us on the lyrics. Some songs have generic, unoriginal lyrics that don't bear much scrutiny. These lyrics are well composed - poetic so worth featuring in this way. There are more layers coming - art work, movement, charisma ... There must be a strong creative reason why they chose this song and not another from there repertoire.

@@deltawho8002 they are different things lol. Your personal liking of a song does not determine its objective chance of qualification. Predictions and personal liking are two different things.

@aijamberisabel When you like something (like an item of clothing), you tend to be drawn to that style. You choose that item over others....does that make sense? If you personally like the song, your choosing it over other songs...yes? So if you really like it, yr objectively suggesting out of all the songs this one stands out for you, and potentially others........so why would you not clearly say it WILL qualify???. It doesn't matter what other people think, and you shouldn't base yr opinion on what other people may like.....lol. Pretty simple logic.

@@deltawho8002 I kinda get what you are saying but in this case your logic is wrong because my liking of this song in particular has no effect on the results as is is my own country I am talking about here and even if I was from another country competing in semi 1 like Ireland for example my vote would have minimal effect on who qualifies as there are likely millions of votes that get registered based on the viewing figures alone. Predictions are not always based on your personal opinions because they are meant to be objective in nature. Qualifying for your personal final is a completely different thing than the real final where viewers solely are taken into account. I feel like this song wouldn’t have enough viewer support right now to qualify because it is an interesting entry but it lacks real punch with the production in a studio cut without any form of a live performance so far I am saying it will likely objectively NQs for now even if my opinion is different to that. I hope that has cleared up for you. Tl:Dr: Predictions are objective and opinions are subjective so therefore saying something will qualify or eon’s qualify doesn’t necessarily reflect your own opinion as the voting and the people who vote has all the effect and one person’s opinion can’t masively change the overall outcome of an entry in the televoting.

I adore the bass of this i feel this year we are lacking ethnic stuff and oz has provided. I am the only one who loves the twinkly noises at the start

For me it is in my top so far, I really love the ethnic elements, and the voices are great. I can see it advance, but the finale is going to be though I feel, but hopefully this will be fantastic live.

I’m Australian, and am so happy they can go to Eurovision this year. The song has totally grown on me, just not a fan of the awkwardness of the video! I think this will really stand out live!

It's growing on me. It will definitely be better live. Their staging outside of Eurovision is great so i can only imagine what its going to be like on the Eurovision stage. I would love them to punch up some more of the Aboriginal instrumental sounds. Im just worried about televoters. I hope the live performance is enough to elevate it in televoter minds.

I couldn't agree more with you. It's an "OK" song but nothing really memorable or outstanding about it. I think this will depend on the live performance. I remember Kate Miller Heidke's spectacular performance (one of the best I've ever seen) which obviously elevated her into the Top Ten coz If she'd just have stood there & sung that song, It would have gotten nowhere. These guys are really gonna have to bring something special or I have this horrible feeling it may not even qualify. I'll be rooting for you Australia, you deserve to be there on the big night.

I like the song but I think it can be reworked into something PHENOMENAL! A punchier, bouncier beat and really emphasising the didgeridoo would be amazing. Remember Pet Shop Boys 'Go West' Mings Gone West 1st & 2nd Movement (that is the name of the remix)? The second half of that nine minute track had so many nature sounds in it. Imagine if this song also featured sounds native only to the Australian outback and bush! This has the potential to be absolutely unique and win an entire fan base across Europe and the world. But it needs some thoughtful re-production! ♥️🏳️‍🌈😁🇦🇺

Im not sure about this song ive heard it 3 times and i haven’t grown to like it and thats a problem as you need instant appeal to get into the final.

Unlike Gustaph's "Because of You" last year or Kaleen's "We Will Rave" this year that sounded like a modern take on retro sounds, IMO "One Milkali" just sounds like an old song with didgeridoo...like I already heard it in the ESC 90s. Radio-Friendly, but no. This is my last place right now.

Just a note that the aboriginal instrument that you hears tradional name is the Yidaki. Didgeridoo is the non-indigenous name it was given. Also the aboriginal influence is indigenous, not ethnic.

You shouldnt have to listen to a song 50 times to start to like it. The people of Europe won't bother listening to this to start to like it because there are soo many songs that grab you straight away....better songs.
