Now you should understand that Cozy Glows cutie mark basically means she's a master at "4D" chess. Lil bugger played everyone and damn near put a checkmate on all of em. When Starlight disappeared, literally joked to myself "wouldn't be surprised if she stabbed her in the back the stuffed the body in something in the basement". Then we see she basically "backstabbed" her and stuffed her in the orb... in the basement. "Bruh..."

Also, Cozy Glow's cutie mark is a rook. The definition of 'rook', as a verb, is to cheat, fleece, or swindle. - Basically, Cozy Glow's special talent is manipulation.

@@dadandadandan Um... no, I'm pretty sure you're wrong. Why do you think Tirek was able to drain them for magic essence then? Also, potions, agriculture, culinary - all heavily implied to be Magic-based crafts. Plus "walking around and picking stuff up with our teeth", you know? OH, and Rockhoof is his own category.

There were so many fans that were theorizing that Chrysalis & Cozy Glow were the same person when Season 8 was airing. It surprised people when it turned out a she wasn't Chrysalis & a child outsmarted everyone.

I am thinking Starlight discovered the artifacts and that vortex and was about to blow the whistle. Then Cozy shoved her from behind into that things grasp, like it was doing to Sweetie Belle. She did say Starlight was about to ruin her plans.

Starlight was clever enough to snoop around and figure out somepony was up to no good, she just didn't know _whom_ to suspect until it was too late.

Now that you have seen the season 8 finale, we can discuss the other meaning behind Cozy Glow's cutie mark, besides being strategic. - A rook is not only a chess piece. As a verb, the word "rook" can mean to fleece or swindle.

I enjoyed this finale, not one of my favorites but it had some good scenes. Up next is the last season and I love that season so much. Some people weren't huge fans of season 8 but I think season 9 redeemed a lot of the flaws season 8 had.

It was certainly an interesting and very packed finale. Cozy is a manipulative and psychopathic, and while I initially disliked her she became one of my favorite villains, she is just so entertaining to watch. I would give it an 7.5-8. If you look closely at 46:30 , you will see that twi, rarity and pinkie get a beam of magic while the others don't, so pinkie is pretty magical :P . Now into the special and the shorts, and finally to season 9. Looking forward to it!

I think the thing with the ending feeling less... final? Is that in most previous seasons, the show staff really weren't sure when wirting things if the show would get picked up for another season or not and so write each finale as if it could be the series finale, whereas here they knew going in they'd get one more season to wrap up the threads they placed here. And agree, Neighsay is still a duechbag.

Congrats fellas, you've reached the season 8 finale to be honest it isn't really one of my favorites, but it was good to see Tirek again just as it was good to see Chancellor Neighsay change his racist perspect on the non pony members of the Student 6, and as for Cozy Glow well i remember when a lot of people thought having her be the main antagonist for the season 8 finale was kinda lazy, because Cozy Glow was such an out of nowhere character with literally no backstory or character development whatsoever, unlike the other mlp viilains those were the only two things Cozy Glow was lacking as a villain...but regardless she still became a fan favorite and at this point in the series she was pretty much one of the only good villains the show had left.

That’s another reason why Cozy is not a standout villain imo. No background info on her! All we got was that she and Tirek somehow became pen pals and she was interested in power and control over others, that’s it. All show and no substance.

I’ll be honest, this season finale was a little underwhelming for me. One reason is because I was spoiled on Tirek making an appearance from way back when the S8 leaks went viral (blasted KZfaq commenters 😤😠). I did enjoy his screen time however, even though he had very little to do (which is a shame, really). Second is the reveal of Cozy Glow being this seasons main villain. I actually thought she would serve as Tirek’s minion at best, but not a stand-alone villain. Cozy was more annoying than menacing to me. This finale was interesting. I liked it in the beginning but the direction it took…it lost my interest.
