I only ever owned the house that I and my family lived in, although we have owned several different ones over the years, and we never owned other houses with tenants in them messing me about with their stupid demands. Now that I am retired, I am rich, happy, safe, and well fed. I guess the old ideas are the best, get a good job, get married, buy a house on a good block of land, raise a family, and grow your own food. It has worked for people over thousands of years. The problem is that soon the cost of your accommodation and fuel will start to take preference over your food bill.
