I started to cry so much when she took the last long note, that was really emitional. I can also relate to the message about depression and finally feel that you are better from it, even tho I'm still struggling with it, I'm better than I was a few months ago.

Dear Maxxy, I felt everything you said exactly the same throughout that performance. So epic. So out of this world. Classy yet fun. And that voice, the message, just stunning!! Also needed to whipe a tear after watching it on my own again and let the full performance hit me. Amazing. Goosebumps. This song has had my vote since I've first heard it! Glad it finally gets the apprecation it deserves. And for you Maxxy, keep on making these great faces and reactions!

As an Aussie in Germany there is no other winner! Australia was in my top 5 but honestly it’s number one now. What Kate did was an incredible work of art. Australia for the win on Saturday!!!!!!👑👑👑👑 And please let Germany host!!!!

At MINIMUM this deserves top 5 (and really, now that we've had the Jury performance, I don't see this finishing LOWER than top 3, and it's an ABSOLUTE threat to win) -- the LED effect just BLEW ME AWAY, I didn't even expect it to be THAT spot on! Her vocals were just perfect (though I think it was interesting that she tried some different little runs in places than we were used to hearing). This just has such a feeling of freedom, positivity, and lightness, there's really NOTHING like this this year, the emotions it stirs -- your review was SO spot on! Whether she ends up winning the whole contest or not, her performances will go down in history as some of the greatest and most inventive EVER!

I was one of those folks that didn't take this entry seriously at the beginning because it appeared too campy, but MY GOODNESS!!!!! Talk about how good staging can TRANSFORM an entry! I will not be surprised to find out that Australia actually won the first semifinal! It was a breathtaking performance!

After this performance I don't care about the other songs from the second semi. And that's awful because my country, Romania, will compete then.Australia became my favourite this year🇹🇩❤🇭🇲I will vote for Kate in the final! #Sidney2020

I think after seeing and hearing this, almost everything else seems so ... yesterday .. same, generic pop/ballads etc. Kate brings a different energy and experience.

Kate Miller-Heidke is a brilliant singer. She's classically trained and a professional song-writer having written and sung in operas and musicals and she's recorded numerous brilliant contemporary pop albums. She often writes and performs with her husband, singer and guitarist, Keir Nuttall with whom she co-wrote new music and lyrics for the musical theatre version of Muriel's Wedding. Anyone who loved her Eurovision performance should check out her songs and albums which are superb!

My favourite Eurovision entry of this year and this performance is going in my all time top 10. I knew Kate would be a contender for the win once we saw the staging and I was right, this is such a beautiful performance. She needs to win.

Yep, the production team showing the bendy poles at the end was deliberate. Kate wanted to say "This is NOT video clip - THIS IS REAL AND YES IT'S HAPPENING RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU!"

when you say that she is facing dark forces YOU ARE SO CORRECT!!! when she wrote this song she was at the tail end of suffering from extreme post natal depression....she said that when she made peace with it, she accepted that those dark forces will always be with her...but if she rather than fights them....she embraces them as simply a part of who she is....thats when she can fly into zero gravity...because they cant hold her down...

Well, I'm still not a big fan of this song - it's not in my ideal Grand Final. But this woman definitely deserves our respect for her ability to do that all live on stage. Well done!

Great reaction video! Both the song itself and the performance as a whole were amazing, Australia is definitely my pick for the best entry in the first semi final. I am disappointed that Portugal didn't make it to the final... but I can't wait to see Sweden, Switzerland and Azerbaijan in the second semi final and France and Italy in the final!

I have listened to this song quite a few times and even after many times it still gives me goosebumps all over my body it will be a new Bohemian Rhapsody of Eurovision well done Kate Miller-Heidke , what I do love most is have now been introduced to hundreds of her songs which are on KZfaq they are amazing and written so well my new best female artists😎 I’ve watched this at least 20 times and I still get goosebumps I have never seen a performance like this in my entire life even in videos that are made with special affects this is live how amazing go Australia you have my vote but I can’t I am Aussie

Kate wrote the song after suffering from Post-Natal Depression. The 2 'Demonators' in the background personify her depression, hows it's always lingering in the background. Unfortunately, the European countries didn't know the deeply personal background to the song. She should have won.

No. If Australia won, the following year would still be held in Europe. That is part of the agreement of Australia competing. Logistically and financially, including the completely different time zone, it is not feasible to conduct the competiti9n in Australia.

I didn't like her performance from the Australian national selection. But the Team around Kate (and of course herself) accepted the criticism from so many people and came up with this incredible performance. The bending poles need a lot of acrobatic skills and I have a lot of respect for Kate, how she faces this challenge and still is able to control her voice. This is certainly a performance to remember. Although the song is not my favourite and I still think, the ESC is a Song Contest, I could see her win and would be fine with it.
