They use the bonnett like we use the hood. It means used as a cover and in this case to cover the engine. Keep kicking ass Jeff.

Bonnets were the hoods that our great-grandmother's used to cover their heads from the weather, and Australians use bonnets to cover up the heads on their Motors from the elements/ weather...

Woolworth's huh🤣🤣🤣, every town here in the UK use to have one until the mid 90's, as a kid in the 60's they were "the" store to spend your pocket money in. I even saw one when I was in Nairobi, Kenya. A real childhood memory for sure.

Here in the UK the "trunk" is called the "boot" and the hood is also a bonnet. Wouldn't a bonnet be a kind of hood 🤔

Come and enjoy some heatwave weather guys! A bonnet came from the French I think. They wear a bonnet on their heads, like a lid. Makes sense!

Hi Jeff and crew. If you think about it an engine has a head… and a bonnet covers the head to protect it. It’s an abstract way of thinking but it’s also logical

I packed many containers for deployments. I promise customs doesn't check them as well as you think. Split between a few containers a ute could come back without question. Old tube tvs are also great for hiding things inside.

Bonnet comes from the British and it is a type of old style hat to cover your head which they then borrowed to use as the name of a cars engine cover. Being an ex-british colony, a lot of old British words stuck around. American's are totally unique for saying "hood", yet think we are the odd ones 🤔

It's funny that the Queen 👑 Lizzy gets first class and the commoner racers get coach, so funny 🤣. I like seeing the tough racers doing coach because their real people, not pampered wimpy types. Also, can't let Discovery soften those tough racers, gotta keep them tough and resilient!!!

in the early days of the horseless carriage, the engine cover was basically an inverted U shape piece of metal secured with straps, and looked like a womans bonnet
