As an Expedition Leader and Naturalist Guide on Kimberley Expedition cruises it was great to watch a comprehensive Kimberley expedition review from a guest’s perspective, albeit on another expedition line.

"When on that last sea day I realized that I was ready for the cruise to end !! " Hi Adrian, or should we call you "Priscilla Queen of the Kimberly !!" Crikey Mate, that was, I think, your BEST cruise presentations. All along I was thinking, there was no way he did this in one take. That script must have taken a while to write and plan out. Well Done. Very enjoyable to watch, and to learn from, how beautiful the Kimberly really is. Australia has some of the most interesting places to visit, that cross EONS of time.

Those Zodiacs would worry me a bit, are they shark and crocodile proof? They look plastic lol. I went to the horizontal falls about ten years ago getting there by sea plane. We went on a jet boat through the falls which was amazing. Are all boats not allowed to go through now? Wasn’t there an accudent once ? I also remember many friendly lemon sharks in that area

The zodiacs are very sturdy! They can actually remain afloat even with punctures. There was an accident at the horizontal waterfalls, that has stopped a lot of operators and cruise lines from going through the falls. There are still local tour operators that do go through with extremely high powered boats. I recorded them while I was there.

I’ve been going through the gaps many times since 1982 and have never had an issue in all kinds of boats, from Kayaks, pontoon party boats, hi speed jet boats, and heaven forbid, inflatable Zodiacs. Give me a Zodiac any time. I took the first guests from an Expedition cruise ship through the gaps in zodiacs a couple of days after the accident. The Maritime Safety Authorities were on sight at the time investigating the accident. Like all adventure activities, appropriate risk management is essential.

If you follow Adrian’s other vlogs, you know this is his style. An incredible overview which no doubt will have a ship review coming out at some stage. A port intensive itinerary would have made this tricky, well done Adrian for bringing us the goods - we don’t always understand just how difficult it is to experience the product first hand and then try to replicate a small percentage of that experience for us viewers 👏
