Went there in 2006, fascinating history. I walked the island in blazing hot sun, great memories. Funnily enough when I returned to Australia in 2017 I saw a Quokka in a zoo vomit and eat it so eating poo won’t faze the little buggers

Wow, that was beautiful and super interesting. I had no idea that island even existed. I'm stoked you and Lucie got to see the east *and* west coasts. Australia looks gorgeous. It's pretty much #1 on my bucket list. Wait, no, #2 -- #1 is reserved for walking around NYC with Tom for a week. [wink-fart] The quokka having a backup embryo is one of the most remarkable evolutionary traits I've ever heard of, holy crap! They're so cute. Such a shame about the penal colony history of such an otherwise amazing paradise. Another day of learnin' fun new tidbits about earth and history. Thanks, Tom and Lucie! Safe travels.

What i find strange about Rotnest island is that it is almost identical to the island in south Africa where nelson Mandela was imprisoned. And it has a similar history. Dude our rats in tacoma Washington make your new York city ratz look like so many mice.

I had to do some double takes...Rottenest Island? Ratnest? But Rottnest, fun to learn about new places and cute critters and of course a new scrabble word. It's always neat to see you popping up in some unlikely and surprising location, Tacoma Washington is also kind of cool? You are able to share some dark truths without being dark yourself, as always thanks for giving us lots of information, a good strategy for making the world a better place. Best wishes and safe travels.

So tragic how indigenous people have been treated/enslaved/brutalized by white invaders over the centuries! How can be life be so good for many and so horrible for others? I just don’t get it! It’s important to never forget. That water is absolutely beautiful! Love the comments about the poop at the end, lol!

It’s even better. The English used the excuse of the Arab slave trade in the 1850s to colonize huge parts of Africa so the could stop well you know. The slave trade

Aboriginal people, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, or First Nations people. 'Aborigines' doesn't get used anymore, unless you're old and white and a bit out of touch lol. Great vid tho, as always 🙌
