It enrages and depresses me that 99% of these accidents are completely avoidable. People are either being impatient, distracted, carelessly speeding or outward idiotic. Just watch the road and slow down people.

I can't help but notice that most of these accidents are deliberate but also avoidable. By that I mean that the webcam footage shows that the owner has spotted the transgression of the law, knows there is going to be an impact and proceeds ahead and then acts (a) surprised and (b) offended.

I am living in Australia, however I am an European from EU country and I have to say that Australians generally do not have good driving skills and most of them are buying big car or a German one, but they can't drive them. Generally there are not skills in Australia, not only driving one, but also in many other fields or areas is a lack of education and skills. Therefore I sent my both kids study to Europe even they were born in Australia!

Love how the first clip, the driver who hit the car in front is pissed about the truck that switched lanes when in reality, its his fault for speeding. If the white car had time to break, the car behind shouldnt be right on his/her ass.
@nickh5081
@nickh5081 2 жыл бұрын
They weren't speeding, they were accelerating because the light turned green. It's definitely the pick up driver that's at fault, but the worst time for the person in front of you to slam on their brakes is when everyone is accelerating at a green light from a dead stop. Everyone tends to be very close because they were stopped a few moments earlier and no one is expecting a sudden stop. He's made because the stupid truck that cut off the person in front of him caused an accident that he will rightly, but unfortunately, be blamed for.
@nickh5081
@nickh5081 2 жыл бұрын
@Bercilak de hautdesert If everyone followed your rules to the letter, 2 cars would get through every light that had an advanced left turn. One person would accelerate, the person behind would wait two seconds then begin to accelerate and immediately find that because they waited so long they're suddenly 5 seconds behind etc. - it would be a nightmare of traffic jams. You'd probably be laying on your horn if you were 3 cars back and everyone played that game! He WAS going too fast - looked like a guy that didn't notice the light changed and was racing to catch the guy in front and make sure he didn't miss the light when all this took place. He's at fault, but I understand why and what happened and know it would happen to many/most people in the same situation. No one leaves 2 seconds when accelerating through an advanced green situation except people that don't care about anyone else on the road.

Maybe you're right, but possibly the road splits further ahead and he needs the right, we don't know. Speaking as a truckie, you get right as early as possible in that case. At the end of the day, if a long vehicle is merging and you're behind the back tyre of that vehicle you can always ease off and overtake later - it takes some real ego and stupidity to think you can use your little 4WD to push a semi trailer around on the road. Either way the car driver is a moron who almost got himself killed. The truckie could've been safer, but I honestly don't blame him.

I wish that watching Dash Cam Owners Australia videos is a mandatory requirement for obtaining a Learner or P Licence. These crash compilations are good material for learning who is at fault and can help avoid making such mistakes especially when the person is a beginner. I meant that's at least what I can do to avoid being the person at fault by watching these videos refreshing my memories of the theories and rules (I can only do my bit, as for someone crash into my car, it is what it is). I have learnt a lot from watching these videos since I got my first car. I had the hazard perception test, I felt those theories and simulations are not enough for training me to be a decent driver.

It is surprising just how many people have crashes in back streets because of this.
