Hi there, Your video just came up in my feed so I had to have a look...lol. Your flower farm looks lovely. I'm in the Western District of Victoria and we've had so much rain and flooding here too. It's been a very "Un-seasonal" season hasn't it? I look forward to seeing your flowers in bloom. I am planting more flowers in my garden this year and have so many seedlings growing, just need the ground to dry up so I can plant them in. Have a lovely day xx Cathi xx

It’s a crazy season. I haven’t been able to do anything really in October, and now it’s dried up so quickly I almost need to irrigate again.

Yes it’s a lot Madonna, And yes I’ve been busy harvesting. It worked well with pitching half the snapdragons, that slowed the explosion down.

Impressive beginning, thank you for sharing your journey. Best wishes and hope the weather improves, very unusual having such a cool and wet spring.

Hi Courtney! Just spotted you on here! I think your farm looks really good considering how much rain you’ve had. One of my viewers suggested to me I need to aerate the soil after all the water we have had. Maybe that would help those couple of crops of yours that got hit harder?

Hey Phaedra, we didn’t get as much rain as some people but it was a lot for us, luckily it’s so flat that most drained to the dam. The flower beds are all raised up a bit so didn’t sit in water for too long. The problem I have now is that it’s dried so quickly the cracks in the ground are huge. Aerating is a great idea. I need to do my back lawn, that sat under water for probably 8 weeks because it was boxed in with the garage, existing flower beds and the house. Thanks for watching ☺️

Seriously good job. I can’t wait to see more. I think you said the gypsum was to lighten the clay? Are you using it as a fertiliser or to balance ph? I have never used it but I am intrigued??
@calmthefarmYT
@calmthefarmYT Жыл бұрын
I did a soil test and my soil is actually amazing and doesn’t need anything, you just can’t dig it because of the cement like clay. So I’m adding the gypsum, compost & tilling it to get the air and organic matter in there. Gypsum helps soil better absorb water and reduces erosion, so plants get get their roots in there as well as water & air. I’ve noticed since tilling, adding the gypsum and mushroom compost I have more worms in the soil. It’s a work in progress.

I am zone 9b in Orlando Fl USA. Do we have the same hardiness zones or is it different country to country? I would think it’s the same?
