@@Rishi123456789 A agree, unfortunately, now when The Walking Dead spinoff is in the air, I saw very major spoiler literally in picture randomly on facebook in the walking dead group and there are such spoilers everywhere, people post it like 3 hours after that episode aired in the US, but here in Europe, it's 3AM for us, so you really can't see it that fast because you need to sleep and then go to work. These spoilers in first few hours should be banned in these groups and in some groups they are and admins actually ban for that. Our Czech groups and websites mostly have rule that NO spoilers in first week.

This movie was the first time we ever saw Jabba the Hut. He was a practical effect; a giant puppet that had 3 puppeteers inside to operate the arms, mouth, and tail, plus another person outside operating cables to actuate the eyes and nostril flares. The Imperial March (Vader's theme) was of course composed by John Williams, but as a favor to a friend, he let Thomas Newman, a largely unknown composer who had never worked in film before, arrange the sorrowful version that plays when Vader dies. Thomas Newman would then go on to have a stellar career in film scoring with his most notable works being The Shawshank Redemption, Finding Nemo, and WALL-E.

In the novel, from what I remember, Vader cracked the emperor’s ribcage as he lifted him and threw him down the abyss. When Luke removed Vader’s helmet, he was able to breathe for the first time free from the suit and the influence of the Dark Side. Scents that brought back a flood of memories that brought him back as Anakin Skywalker. Did you recognize the rebel pilot Wedge Antilles? He was Luke’s wingman down the Death Star trench in A New Hope. Wedge was with him at the Battle of Hoth and was the only one to bring down a Walker by entangling the legs in The Empire Strikes Back. Here, Wedge gets to shine by flying with Lando into the heart of the Death Star 2. He is seen with Luke and the Ewoks in the end scene. I was surprised at how it ended, as I expected Hollywood to milk this franchise dry, that it had an end to the story. Very pleasantly surprised. Took my dad to see a Star Wars marathon a few years later. All three original movies shown in theater in one night!

One thing that I loved about the Original Trilogy is how the lightsaber duels were not just about swordfights. They were really stages for the psychological battles between the characters. That's one thing I feel we lost with the newer movies. Your reaction to the ending and the death of Darth Vader was is why Darth Vader is known as one of the greatest villains in cinema history. Not many villains will make you cry for them upon their death. The redemption and death of Anakin Skywalker is an amazing character arc. I don't know if you noticed but in the ending sequence when the ghost of Anakin Skywalker appears, Obi-Wan glanced and smiled at him. There is a non-canon book that goes into that. When Anakin dies, as he "floats" in the netherworld of the Force, Obi-Wan contacts him. It goes like this : "Master. I am so, so sorry." “Anakin, listen carefully. You are in the netherworld of the Force, but if you ever wish to revisit corporeal space, then I still have one thing left to teach you. A way to become one with the Force. If you choose this path to immortality, then you must listen now, before your consciousness fades.” “But Master … why me?” “Because you ended the horror, Anakin. Because you fulfilled the prophecy. Because you were … and are … the Chosen One.” “Because I was wrong about you. And because I am your friend.” “Thank you, Master.” [Ryder Windham’s The Life and Legend of Obi-Wan Kenobi]

When Yoda told Luke that he would become a jedi only after confronting Vader, he didn't mean to kill him, but to resist falling to the dark side. That was his final test. If you plan doing the prequels, the only thing I will say (no spoilers) is to keep yourself ready to take some notes, if you don't have a good memory, because there are a lot more characters (the Jedis are still alive, so there are more of them). Try to remember who trained who. If you do it well, you will have a chain of names starting from Yoda all the way to Luke. And keep the last half of your tissues box for episode 3. Have a nice day.

1. Best guess is that Han was Jabba's "trophy" for about a year and a half before the rescue. 2. Vader discovered Leia as Luke's sister because he could feel it through Luke. Luke didn't know that until just before then. 3. Luke's light saber is green because he lost his old one along with his hand so they decided to make it green because it worked better in the desert background landscape. 4. Everybody is freaking out because Luke and Leia kissed mostly because she was trying to piss off Han. They didn't know they are related. 5. The "I love you. I know" was written into the script to get Leia the shot to say it to Han. 6. This was Warrick Davis'/Lead Ewok first acting gig. He was only 13. Willow is his lead with Val Kilmer and worth a first time/share. 7. Awesome camera work with the race through the forest. Nobody in their right mind would go that fast. 8. Carrie Fisher😇 said in her biography that the most satisfying part in her Star Wars experience was choking out Jabba. 9. Jedi is plural. With Luke and Leia leading the way they can reestablish the Jedi back into the galaxy. 10. Ford wanted Han to die in the last episode. 11. This is the best of the original 6 George Lucas Star Wars. After the first six he sold it to Disney, and everything changed. Sadly

A few facts about Return of the Jedi: The teddy bears are called ewoks. The creature held in jabba's basement is a rancor, native to another planet. The squid looking guy is admiral Ackbar, he is of the mon calamari race. Once the rebels helped the Mon Calamari to liberate their planet, Mon Cala, the mon cals joined the rebellion and turned all their huge ships with advanced shields into war ships to help the rebel fleet. This info is all background lore, never given exposittion in any of the movies, so not spoiling anything. This was my favorite movie of all time throughout my childhood and still might be now. Kind of Was my childhood. Enjoyed the reaction! Hope youll enjoy the prequels! As to whether Leia could hear Luke in Empire bc of being force sensitive herself, or if it was bc Luke had it and they had a special/familial bond, or if just one person strong in the force can sometimes send messages to others regardless of whether they are force sensitive or not is never explained in the movies, but there's a good chance George Lucas, or someone else with his permission, answered this question somewhere else.

Jabba in this movie was a puppet with about half-a-dozen puppeteers, at the time it was the biggest puppet in a movie (unchanged in the re-releases/updates). The scene with the band however was redone with CGI, new band members and dancers added and even the song was a new one, replacing the very disco original, the Ewok song at the end is a new one too.

This movie was the first movie I took my wife to watch back in early 1978 while we both were stationed at NATTC Millington for our Navy and Marine schools. We have always had a very fond memories of these movies, since the sand dune scene in Episode VI, Return of the Jedi was filmed between the two bases we were stationed at. As a fan of all things Star Wars, you might want to take a pause and actually watch "Rogue One, a Star wars Story". There will be NO SPOILERS if you watch it, because it is tied to these three movies you just watched. All nine of the actual movies start with "Star Wars, Episode I through IX" The reason I suggest this is because a lot of people who had not watched A New Hope through Return of the Jedi many times will miss a lot in Rogue One. Rouge One uses many characters and un-used film from the three original movies. Since these three movies are so fresh in your mind, you will actually get more out of Rogue One, than if you wait to watch it.

In the 80s, before the prequel movie series, the long running Clone Wars animated movie and series and the Disney Star Wars movies & TV shows, George Lucas did write & produce 2 made-for-TV movies featuring the Ewoks and little Wicket, again played by actor Warwick Davis. (The Caravan Of Courage: An Ewok Adventure in 1984 & Ewoks: Battle For Endor in 1985). Me & my girlfriend personally enjoyed them for what they are but other fans have mixed reactions to them (some enjoy them like as we did while others hate them). Other than the books/novels, Saturday moring cartoons (there were also 2 animated SW cartoons, Droids: The Adventures of C-3PO & R2-D2 & Ewoks: The Animated Series) and comics at the time in the 80s, this was the first look into the George Lucas produced live-action Star Wars expanded universe. Those two TV Ewok movies haven't been upgraded to Blu-Ray yet nor do I think they are available for streaming yet either but you can still find them both pretty easily (in a 2 pack) on DVD, on sites like Amazon & eBay.

So, since you read these, I'm going to give you some major lore (no spoilers) and some trivia. First off, the "I Know" in Episode 5 was improvised by Harrison Ford. Next, the entire reason why he was placed in carbonite was because Harrison Ford had not yet signed on to do the third movie, so they froze him in carbonite to have a way to explain his possible absence in the third movie. Now, for some lore...The Sith, for centuries, had what's known as The Rule of Two. There's always a master and an apprentice. Emperor Palpatine (Darth Sidious) brought Anakin to the dark side when he was training as a Jedi. The Jedi have a code: There is no emotion, there is Peace. There is no ignorance, there is knowledge. There is no passion, there is serenity. There is no chaos, there is harmony. There is no death, there is The Force. On the other side, the Sith have their code: Peace is a lie, there is only passion. Through passion, I gain strength, through strength, I gain power. Through power I gain victory. Through victory, my chains are broken. The Force shall set me free. So, essentially, the fundamental difference is how the force is utilized. Obi Wan says in Episode 4 that the force is all in all living things. It connects us, unites us, binds the universe together. Yoda says "Luminous beings are we". The Jedi use the force as a flow. Like a river. Using the flow of that river to help them. Sith act as a battery or a capacitor. They gather that power into them and release it in a flurry of passion. Ultimately, remember that, while the movies show a true dichotomy of Light vs Dark, there are several other schools of the force. Some of these are explored in the animated series and the Extended Universe. I truly wish I could be in your shoes now. I have only wished for amnesia so that I could rediscover Star Wars and see it with fresh eyes.

19:49 remember, Yoda only ever says Luke must "confront" Vader. Yoda never says Luke must kill Vader. 36:44 in the EU novel I, Jedi the process of building a lightsaber is outlined. Mechanically, its not complex, but the Jedi channels The Force through it for many hours to fuse the parts together with extreme efficiency so the blade ignites instantly each and every time, and never sputters, plus it can operate a very long time off a small energy cell. In the novel it takes 30 days of meditation to forge a lightssber, and under the Old Republic a students final trial before attaining the rank of Jedi Knight is building their lightsaber.

They filmed the scene with Jabba the Hutt for the first Star Wars film using a human actor that's why Han Solo says to him " You're a wonderful human being " but they didn't end up using the scene in the final release of the movie. For this film George Lucas decided to make Jabba a huge slug so when they added the Jabba scene back into the original movie they put a CGI Jabba where the human actor used to be. This movie used a huge puppet for Jabba the Hutt because CGI wasn't really a thing when this movie was made.

I saw the original in the theater in 1977. I was 6. I fell in love and have been a lifelong fan. I thoroughly enjoy watching much younger people discover the Star Wars universe through these reactions. Your videos are some of the best. You have great instincts. Which leads me to the reason I’m writing you. You’re just slightly missing how the force works. No one has the force. The force is, like Yoda said, all around us. It’s surrounds and penetrates all living things. It binds the galaxy together. Force wielders are sensitive and can feel the force. They can be trained to use the force. When you see Yoda lift the X-wing out of the swamp or Vader choking someone, or Obi Wan using the Jedi mind trick they’re all using/wielding the force. In the time of the Jedi very young children who are force sensitive are found and trained. They are called younglings. If they decide to continue their training to become Jedi they are paired as pre teens or early teens with a master who instructs them. They are then called padawan or learner. After lots more training and time they can achieve the rank of knight and eventually master. With time and training their force abilities grow. After Obi Wan, Yoda and Vader died you saw and heard their force ghosts. They are now part of the living force. It’s yet another level of mastery or achievement in the force. I hope that helps you understand the force a little better. I can hardly wait for your next Star Wars reaction.
