I don't know why you're laughing. Muffs are well known for their practicality. But they must be very furry. A good muff should never look moth eaten or worn out. Also it should be big enough to put both hands in at the same time, but tight enough that it doesn't let in a draught while doing so. A draughty muff can be very uncomfortable. As hands can be a bit greasy, it's vital to keep your muff clean to stop it smelling. Few people like a smelly muff and it can make your hands pungent, which would be embarrassing if visiting elderly members of the clergy. Clean it properly and leave it to dry naturally in a well ventilated place. And when you put it away in warm weather, make sure it's thoroughly dry so it won't go mouldy. Don't forget where you put it. There's nothing worse than not being able to find a muff when you need one. Well looked after, a good muff should last a lifetime and provide just as much comfort, even after many years of use, as it did when you first got your hands on (in) it.

@@allanwalsh95TSV In Hungarian we call "muff" (read "mooff") a hairy p()ssy. "Minge" , in our local Gypsy dialect "mindzsa" is the same p()ssy. I hope it helps...😁
