Acland Street is not part of the "red light disteict." It has eastern European restaurants and bakeries, boutique shops, a bookshop and tge like. The red light area is or was on Fitzroy Street.

Red Light District....really ?? maybe in the 1980's ...pretty uninformed and simplistic , naughty school boy phantasy. Acland Street is a sophisticated, heavily policed restaurant and entertainment area.

There are no red light districts in Melbourne. Might find some toothless nags somewhere taking $20 for a quick job but mostly cleaned up. Very tame compared to the rest of the world and thankful that it is. That's one thing we got right and of course our gun laws, two things. Having said that the cost of a holiday in Melbourne is a huge downside.

Hi there? Nice walking videos! I’m planning to go to Melbourne some time this year. Would like to ask, is staying at Flinders street safe? I’m Asian and read that there are punks/crackheads at flinders station.

Generally speaking Melbourne city is quite safe during the day, but at late night some drunkies or drugies might punch you for no reasons, still quite rare though.

@@MPApov me and my family plan to return to the hotel by 8-9pm so that’s fine I guess. Still anything note worthy on flinders street since my hotel is near the train station.

You can see from my video Flinders st near station is the busiest area in the city. It's quite safe
