These are the kind of roads I enjoy riding the most these days. Good tarmac, one lane, zero traffic. The best ones I've found so far were in Northern Italy. But also some parts of Austria have these. A lot of them actually. Hop onboard the fabulous Ducati Multistrada 950 S and enjoy the ride! :)

If anyone comes to this video because they are considering buying a Multistrada 950s then DO IT. I bought one this year after lots of test rides and owning several bikes before... the 950s is incredible. Thank me later.

@@doukanylmaz5789 I really had to have a long think about this... if you’re used to a Honda gearbox you might find this one a bit tricky at first but you get used to it quickly. The mirrors vibrate quite a lot at higher speeds (above 130kmh). Other than that if you’re a new rider and have short legs then you might battle with the moving around in parking spaces etc. I can’t think of any other issues... fantastic bike.

@@javimendez9111 indeed I did. I don’t believe the 1260s is really worth the 5k€ more you have to pay. I found the 950 engine has the sweetspot of great power that you can really use without instantly running into problems with the law. Many professional testers (including schaaf and 1000ps) also rated the 950 to be the better Multistrada. Go test ride them and decide :)

Respekt, mein lieber Schaaf! Übertriebene Angst vor gelegentlich auch tagsüber die Straße querenden Rehen und vor Traktoren, die mit Anbaugeräten exakt so breit sind wie die Straße, kann man dir wirklich nicht vorwerfen. Die Straße von Glashütten nach Schwanberg ist nur 10 Motorradminuten von meinem Haus entfernt. Die Gegend ist für Motorradfahrer paradiesisch! Ich hoffe, du bringst noch mehr Videos aus der West- und Südsteiermark.

I don't know what your country's police does but in Austria they don't bother doing speed checks on roads that have no traffic. They would need to stay for 2 days in order to write 10 tickets.

@@Schaaf Here in Italy (you may recognize my nick from instagram lol) they do it all the time, i don't mean roads with no traffic at all, but roads that have just bikes going up and down and no heavy traffic at all. Never in the middle of a town but always on the straights (well hidden of course) and in the middle of nowhere, because the majority of riders that go over the speed limit, never do it (or they do it way less) in the towns. On the straights it's easy cash. I got 3 tickets this year, of which 1 was actually out of a fast blind corner in the middle of a forest, and another was just after a tunnel and out of a town, 30m before the speed limit changes (from 50 to 70) and where the actual border of the town is. 🤣 This year was way worse, i suppose to get back some money lost from 3 months of quarantine 🙄

Great vid mate. You arecertainly braver man than I am, hitting 120+ km/h on these narrow forest-surrounded roads! :) BTW Is that a factory exhaust on the Ducati? Sounds pretty good.

@@Schaaf I am thinking about the 950 very strongly, the only thing holding me is the extra cost of the Desmo (well anything Ducati-related as a matter of fact) I secretly hope that they will drop it for all their bike in the future. Anyway, normally when I am watching 950 vids the sound is kind of whiney, particularly in the higher rev range. The idle sound is so-so but the air-cooled Scrambler's or Monster's still sound a mile better. Keep up the good work!

hi schaff. i get a 950s and i love it but at the moment i am watching for a 1260 enduro. i would ask you if the 1260 enduro can satisfy me ( i ride always with passenger and on mountains the 950 lack of power a bit), but at the same time i dont want to loose the lightnees, the agility and the equilibrium of the 950s. moreover the 1260 enduro is a bit more high saddle. what do you suggest me? thanks

I personally am not a big fan of the 1260 because of its soft chassis. But on the agility side you don't lose a lot.

Hi @Schaaf what's your opinion on the quick shifter? I find it good at up-shits, but downshifts seems to need to be pushed hard on the lever, had a few false neutrals using it...

Try the Indian FTR1200s with roadtires and a reflash-THAT is a funbike. the stock tires are bad when wet and the Euro5 tune is not all good. That is my (hooligan)funbike.2019ftr1200s racereplica.

Ich glaube diese Strecke bin ich schon mal gefahren vor einigen Jahren mit der Transalp. Die Ganze Weinebene und deren Umgebung ist für das Motorradfahren wie geschaffen finde ich. Allerdings musste ich auch schon Umwege fahren weil ein HAuptstraßenzug dort wegen eines Motorradunfalles stundenlang gesperrt wat. :(

How does the 950 compare to the Vstrom? I ask because I have a 14DL1000 and the 950 is an attainable Ducati. How much better is it performance-wise? And vs the 1200/1260? Would you get a brand new 950 or a used 1200?

@@huseyinzara7444 the technical data are not centered, undoubtedly in favor of the 1260. we talk about driveability and use on the road: chassis, 19 wheel, engine with the right torque and horsepower, ergonomics, comfort, lightness and agility. most testers prefer the 950s to the 1260s.

jetzt hab ich meine Hausstrecke am Anfang fast nicht erkannt :D Ich fahr ja immer so: von Deutschlandsberg die Weinebene rauf L619 (nur nicht im Laufe der Strecke links bei Glashütten abbiegen so wie du dann ;) ) > auf der anderen Seite wieder hinunter nach Kärnten > in Frantschach rechts auf die die 70er (Packerstraße) bis zur "Alpenresidenz Berger" > rechts abbiegen auf die L136 über die Hebalm retour nach Deutschlandsberg so: www.google.com/maps/dir/46.7983622,15.2202812/46.8698779,14.8768149/46.9348227,14.960397/46.8310174,15.2410482/@46.8307401,15.0911832,10.67z/data=!4m2!4m1!3e0 man kann da schön variieren: - zB in Frantschach links abbiegen und Richtung Wolfsberg > da kommt man dann bis zur Soboth, welche ich aber recht überlaufen finde.. - oder die B70 weiterfahren bis nach Köflach - eben über die Pack. Extrem geile Strecke, teilweise allerdings etwas rutschtiger Asphalt und wenig sichere Überholmöglichkeiten - oder in Twimberg nicht rechts abbiegen und der B70 folgen sondern der B78 durchs Lavanttal - da kommt man nach Weißkirchen wo man, mehr oder weniger, direkt aufs Gaberl weiterfahren kann....oder man fährt zum Red Bull RIng, der ist ja auch nicht weit ;) Auf jeden Fall hat man in der Gegend echt geile Strecken. Sofern es sich machen lässt ist unter der Woche am Vormittag kaum was los auf den Straßen. Im Sommer am Wochenende ist es allerdings eine Katastrophe vom Verkehr her..

always a chance. But since I don't like to ride these at 50 kph (which would be the only safe speed to avoid a fatal crash with an animal) I don't think about that
