Austrians are very easy-going people and don't like to be stressed, and they are very interested in enjoying their life. The Swiss say that their life is based on quality and fashion. For them, quality is very important, and this has made Switzerland a very high-quality and stable country

@@RubiAUT As an Austro- Bulgarian I must say it depends whenever you are from the Landscape or City. I was born in Pfaffstätten, which is 20KM away from Vienna and people here are pretty alright, but now I live in Bulgaria, since my mother came from Communist Bulgaria.

In practice, Bern is the capital. Whether calling it "Hauptstadt" or "Bundesstadt" is just a question of "Tomeito" or "Tomahto". But "Röstis" as traditional dish is a no-go 😉. It's "Rösti".

I am from West Austria and i was born there .. i worked and l lived 4years in Chur Swiss .. i made the money and decided to go back to austria .. you earn less but austria is a welfare state in the end you have almost the same life .. i work less and the food is a lot better here in austria (in my and friends opinion).. in Austria you have a much freer life ..

@@sagittariusa9012 yes, but the reality is different .. too much paperwork and self-insurance .. in austria you are automatically insured .. my medication costs ~2200 eur a month and that is covered by the state and i don't pay any euros .. in switzerland you have to have a certain pay part yourself with such high costs. has advantages and disadvantages

@@maksimarkovic4467 We have a thing called "Franchise". 250 CHF Franchise mean you pay max 250 CHF yourself (each year) if something happen but you pay more monthly. With 2500 CHF you pay more if something happen but pay less every month. I never had something and i use the 2500 CHF Franchise. So people like me benefit from that system. And if something bad happens, I still have a additional hospital insurance that reduce my Franchise to 0 when im in Hospital. I pay about 240 CHF each month for insurance and 12 for hospital insurance.

@@maksimarkovic4467 After living in switzerland for a year and as a blue collar worker (decent salary) i am thinking i would be better off in austria.. Yes switzerland is a great country but favours the super wealthy and as you said, all accountability (insurance) on the poor individual. I am strongly considering a move to the more suitable austria for the NORMAL person and not some 1%er

If you see all the figures, you would expect Switzerland to be the better taken care off country, well in reality it is the opposite. Switzerland can look like a shithole in places, with many abandoned route 66 like towns and streets, bad roads and poor supplies in shops. Austria looks top notch throughout, with the best roads in the world just after the Netherlands, the best way buildings are built with respect to the surrounding nature and if you visit a supermarket you feel they have access to fresh and a wide variety of food. Service is also much better, people are friendlier. Austrians also manage to make 30% of their food organic. So they might be poorer on paper, but much richer in quality of life.

As an Austrian I really appreciate your kind words about my country, but as much as I hate to admit it Switzerland is better in most things. About the road quality both have amazing roads with, Switzerland having a slight edge in quality. They have better air quality, stronger economy, higher HDI and are much more technologically advanced. When you compare Switzerland to any country it's probably gonna win. Bit nevertheless my country is also great and there's nothing major to complain about

@@spicynugget_0294 I see some serious minority complex here, you don't need too. Swiss lack mojo. Their economy is mostly built on doubtful money. And no, their roads are nowhere near Austrian quality. Between German junk and yours. Better air quality? That seems like some thumbsucking as well, the population density is much higher, so this cannot be the case. The also lay in the banana of bad European Air, from Venice to London, Austria is outside of the highly toxic zone.

@@lovemadeinjapanwell I can't argue with you on that, but I still think Switzerland though a bit overrated is still a great country. There's always that argument that Switzerland is rich because allies, jews and nazis put their money in their banks, but even before that Switzerland alongside Norway had the highest gdp per capita in europe at that time. Just so you know I prefer Austria over Switzerland, but you can't deny that they're mostly on top of the ranking in many fields.

@@spicynugget_0294 The only think is they really rank top #1 is the stink of their cheese. I can't get warm feelings for Switzerland, sorry. I tried hollidaying there once (thermen Vals, kurhaus Val Sinestra), but will forever go Austria again.

@@lovemadeinjapan you have to put your opinion aside and look at the facts. I also wen't to Switzerland once and said to myself that it's a bit hyped on social media with all these heaven like views and ended up being underwhelmed because we have all these views in Austria, but just because I didn't have the best time doesn't mean that I'm right I could be wrong. I will always chose Austria over our neighbor, but that doesn't change the fact that Switzerland has the highest quality of life
