I've had one of those jackets for a couple of years now. Very pleased with it and mine is totally waterproof.

Thanks for the review. I am looking at the summer weight 03 clothing but may pick up a model 75 jacket, but I really do want a M65 in OD again. What the past few years have taught me is that all military surplus is "Limited Edition" and you must buy it while you can. The military is not making any more of it once they discontinue an item.

Hello many thank for your comments. yes you are right about " Limited Edition " if you are looking for OD type surplus because with a few exceptions everybody has now switched to camouflage pattern equipment. Austria was one of the last to switch over, so these jackets are not that old. Beautiful country Canada, hope to perhaps visit next year Take care out there

Hello yes its very comfortable, when you say liner I guess you mean like the US M65 type jackets ? where I understand you can add a liner. I do not believe you can add any liner there are no internal buttons etc Take care out there

Hello my friend. What socks are your favorite for a mid thickness spring/summer/ fall? I enjoy your videos I just bought myself some Haix desert combat boots and now I need some bloody decent socks!

Hello, wool socks are seen to be the best for walking socks, with Merino wool as being seen as the best type, having said that its best to have a mixture with Nylon added for strength , 100% wool will not give the best wear. As an example wool carpets are normally 80/20 mix . wool/nylon . I have also some ex Army Desert socks for a surplus store that work well . Best to avoid thin day to day sock for shoes, these are ok for work but not great for walking Take care out there

Do you think this should be waterproofed with a wash in or a spray on product? Got one on order already, I think from the place you linked to.

Hello yes I guess so, I have not yet tried any of the wash in products but they seem very popular, I have used a spray on product from Mountain Warehouse on a waterproof jacket and that seemed to work Take care out there

I prefer spray on products, but if you get the membrane version, you may want to use a product recommended for Gore-Tex.

M65 were rare used in Vietnam war..'cause weather condition. They used Tropical combat uniforms. M65 used in USA and Europe togheter with M65 fishtail parka in extreme cold period.
