a short review of a cheap and cheerful OBD diagnostics tool that seems to work well on a discovery 3 and most likely any other land rover
covers diagnostics and special functions.

Thanks for the time you took in this video,it was really informative, I have a Freelander 2 and My Brother has a 2007 Discovery this has helped me make the decision on Autel ap200. Cheers.

Not all the Service Functions will work on all vehicles. The list provided is all the functions it can do, however it is vehicle specific. On the Discovery 3 you cannot change the tyre size with the AP200. You can with the GAP II tool. Though I was not comfortable paying for a new Gap Tool. I am happy with the AP200, I feel it is brilliant and well and trully punches way above the cost of the unit. I have since purchased an iCarsoft CR Max which is on the way. I am interested to see how well it is with the Discovery, especially it's bidirectional control functions and the Adaptation functionality. Especially when you replace a part. I replaced the TCCM (prior to owning the AP200) and had to pay a mechanic to set it to the vehicle. I don't know if the AP200 or the iCarsoft can do it, though I hope either one could.

Thanks for making this! I recently got an ap200 I haven't played much with it as I've never used scan tool. Do you know if you can disable tpms ?

I'm not sure if I'm honest, my car doesn't have TPMS so I haven't looked in to that option sorry!

Hello :) I do indeed, it is a pioneer headunit with andriod auto and apple car play. I believe it is called the pioneer da230dab headunit. Works with steering controls too which is great. I think it's around £200 in the uk

Hi mate. From memory I don't think it can do any 'hot' functions but it can read all the data. I had to use a proper garage style Autel unit to do the calibration

Thanks for the information. I'm looking for a unit that can do a airsuspension calibration and oil change reset from the gearbox. Is that all possible with this unit?

Awesome mate - I've just got mine and I love it. Just a quick one, have you had a problem with your fuel burning heater? Mine seems to be locked out and someone recommended one of these to reset it.

Fortunately mime works just fine so I haven't really looked. But from what I can tell there isn't any special feature for the fbh so I'm going to say I doubt it would be able to

@@jasondejongh8339 yes i did but not with this Autel AP200.. if you want great device for your LandRover get yourself GAP iidTool.... it is bit expensive but it will pay itself .... trust me 😉

Can I at least perform basic OBDII functions on any vehicle without an annual subscription ? Or , Does the tool stop functioning after the 1st years subscription ?
