AUTHENTIC BUKA STEW- IYA BASIRA STEW | SISI JEMIMAH
#bukastew #iyabasirastew #nigerianstew #sisijemimah #authenticbukastew
Just showing you how I make Buka Stew. I should mention that normally, I would use just bleached palm oil throughout but I didn't have enough, hence the need to incorporate vegetable oil.
Deleted a couple of "too much oil" comments already.
Read the caption, it clearly states Buka Stew this is not a Fitfam, healthy type stew. This is BUKA STEW in all its glory You can't skimp on oil when making Buka stew, you'll end up with boiled stew. You"ll never see any actual BUKA STEW without oul floating on the top, the oil is usually skimmed off after cooking.
I will not ruin a classic recipe by trying to modify it to suit anyone's idea of healthy recipes.
I hate that I feel the need to explain something so simple but here we are..
Ingredients:
Boiled Assorted Meats- Beef, Goat Meat, Cow Foot, Ponmo and Offals are ideal
Vegetable Oil
Bleached Palm Oil
Chicken or Meat Broth
4 Big Bell Peppers (Tatashe)
4 Tomatoes
3 Scotch Bonnet Peppers (Ata rodo)
4 Chilli Peppers (Shombo)
2 Big Onions
1 Chopped Onions
Bouillon Cubes
Salt to taste

Don't mind the oil questioning and nosy picking. If it's an italian recipe nobody will turn up there nose or ask questions. You dont love Nigerian cuisine , theres plenty of options on youtube. Please dont change our meals to suite anyone's palate. Keep up the good work. Next show them how to pair it with ewedu and amala.

The worst part of it is that it's even fellow Nigerians (people from the East especially) that go around condeming other triibes for adding too much oil (in their own opinion) to food. They'll even insult you on j top your own food

I just finished downing this stew with ewedu and gbegiri. It was perfect, as in authentic buka stew in all its glory. Thanks for this and keep up the good work. And I'm fitfam but abeg, there's a reason for the recipe. Everything balances out as long as you're not drinking oil everyday.

It will be wickedness if I dont like, comment and subscribe to your channel.i just finished cooking and this is the best stew I have made in my life.I added just one scotch bonnet because my husband doesn't like chilli.when I added the blended stuff to the oil it was different from what I was watching lol I became skeptical about the result so I added little olive oil again(that's what I use to cook)allowed it dry up a little and it came out soooooo delicious. Thanks dear God bless you.

Not sure what you mean by seasoning. I don't use seasoning (Curry, Thyme etc.) in palm oil based stews. It's a No No. If you mean salt and bouillon cubes, I added bouillon cubes at the start, my meat stock was well seasoned) hence the need for no extra salt
