Thanks for watching! This is a comparison video between an authentic and fake Louis Vuitton Speedy Bandouliere 25 in the Damier Ebene print.
I am by no means a Louis Vuitton Authenticator. I simply made an expensive mistake and wanted to share the learning I had done afterwards. It was easy to see a lot of photos/videos online about the more obvious differences like the patterns, stitching...etc. Some of these are just hard to detect without seeing it in person or comparing them side by side. I tried to take this video in as high of quality as possible to show the differences!
I chose not to show things like the receipts since those can be easily faked. I’ve heard that people are often buying real bags and using that receipt with some edits to sell fakes. Do not take a real looking receipt as a way to validate the bag.

I love how she keeps saying "very big difference" when there's nothing but minor differences. I've purchased authentic bags from their respective stores for girlfriends. After seeing how close the fakes are now, I can't stomach the idea of paying so much for a "real" bag again.

Unless someone has both bags to compare, I don’t think the average person could tell the difference. Also I don’t know why these bags are so expensive. They are canvas, not quality leather.

LV bags are hand stitched. That is what you are paying for. Quality materials and a lifetime warranty. The fakes, as nice as they look new, will quickly wear out. I got taken many years ago and the LV bag looked like crap soon after using it.. I own 3 real ones now. That is plenty, but definitely worth the investment.

Are these issues happening if these bags are used daily? I just got the pochette metis in monogram canvas from the Kusama collection. I love the multicolored polka dots and hope they don’t melt on me, lol. But I don’t think it’ll be in my regular rotation. I also have a NoeNoe in DA but only use that a few times a year in the spring and summer so I haven’t put that much wear and tear into it. I hope I don’t see the fraying for a while. Also, I’m saving up for a *esluxscom* . Has your colleague seen the same issues with that size? I don’t mind some relaxation in shape but I don’t want it to be a puddle either. Thanks for the video!

Important fact: The older denier ebene bags had the shinier finish to the leather.. and LV dust bags and boxes are always a little different depending on where they are made. It’s so so hard to spot a fake because of LV’s really bad quality challenges…

Their quality is not inferior to those of large luxury goods. The durability and attention to detail rival an original designer bag and I couldn't believe how well I matched it. It's the perfect accessory for any stylish girl! I'm sure I'll be repurchasing some other styles and colors here to match my outfits and shoes *hotdups* !

You know my grandmother gave me a fake *esluxscom* bag because she knew I like pretty things and she thought it was pretty too. I was 22 years old at that time. I really don't care. It’s the pandemic, let’s be prudent, if a super replica has on,y slight differences that’s not visible to the naked eye, pls….. you will be smart by buying the super replica at 6000 lesser. This just goes to show that there is no need to buy a real bag! You can get a copy that is almost exact! It's ludicrous to spend that kind of money on something that has no real monetary value or doesn't raise the quality of your life. The money could be spent on better things!

@@Tricey.89 now a days many of the replicas are mirror copies, including the burnishing of the leather over time as well as the longevity. At the end of the day, it is all an ego purchase because people think they are doing something by having a labeled good and spending big money. A $300 Italian leather bag will do the same thing as a LV and without the exorbitant cost. However, "some" people don't feel as special without the label that everyone can see.

Matte vs shiny leather is not an immediate indication of being fake. Depends when the bag was made. Prior to 2020 LV leather was shiny, only comes in all matte after.

Interestingly, that in a counterfeit bag, the inside sewing at the handles is more carefully made (leather is not so frayed), than in the original one, which can be clearly seen in the video at 11:04

The older authentic bags have a shiny leather also so that’s not a dead giveaway. LV actually changed to matte leather only over the past year or two. Sorry this happened to you, really stinks!

It's matte when it's bnew, it get's shinier as you use it. I have the same matte finish when I bought mine ☺️

This was a great comparison. I've been waiting on someone to do this type of review. After reading some of the comments of the people who bought the fake ones and said that their purses lasted for years.... I guess it's really just up to the individual.

I find this all so so interesting. Luxury is a choice and I am all for it if you want to spend your money on it, but the price increases each year especially for LV is crazy. The super fakes are so good nowadays and a small or action of what the authentic are going for

I have multiple fakes that I’ve carried for over 3 years now. My Neverfull I use everyday. It has a gorgeous patina and has not one flaw. Just because something is fake doesn’t mean it won’t last just as long. These fake bags are made the same exact way with the same exact materials… you realize you’re paying for a name & Not any difference in quality right?

There's nothing wrong with counterfeit fashion products, as long as they're not fragrances, and as long as they sell for significantly less than the actual product from the manufacturer in question. *hotdups* bags are awesome. Prices are all around $150.

Seems everything on the fake is close, bug nothing is done perfectly. Excellent comparison! Very thorough. Fakes are getting better and better, and the more they sell, the more resources will be put into improving the quality. Once the counrerfeiters find out the common spots that are dead giveaways, theyll change it. It just has to be good enough for most people, not everyone.

Who cares what someone has or doesn’t have. It doesn’t make you any better than anybody else. Real or fake. It’s nobody’s business unless you’re paying their bills. I think some people are just butt hurt by the fact that they spent $5,000 on a handbag and anyone can get *esluxs* that looks identical for a few hundred bucks or less. Now that’s the real tea. LV bags are not made out of leather only the straps and trimming is made with vachetta leather the rest is canvas. I own real and fake ones. I told my children not to make a mistake and sell my real bags as fakes if something happened to me. They told me I need to separate them because they can’t tell the difference.

The fakes at least on DHGate range from $50-$150 and their really good quality whereas the real bag is like $1600. I'd rather buy a fake than drop the cost of rent on a bag

@@gloriajoseph5653 The $50 to $150 fakes are NOT "really good quality" though lol. An LV bag is "expensive" because it IS ACTUALLY really good quality. If they weren't good quality, the brand wouldn't be what it is today obviously. You gotta remember, these comparison videos look at bags at a specific point in time, most of the time UNUSED. They LOOK identical AT THE MOMENT THE VIDEO IS SHOT thus everyone thinks "oh look they look identical therefore the fake must be "really good quality"....UHHH NO. If you were to subject both bags to the SAME AMOUNT OF USE over an equal period of time, THAT IS HOW YOU WILL KNOW what is "good quality" and what isn't. I just went out with my cousin the other day and she was wearing a fake she bought for Christmas 2020 on one of those "sites" and the stitching was coming out already. That would NOT be happening with an authentic one. And yes, I noticed and yes it looked immaculate when she bought it--she was showing it off to everyone. And now its tacky AF. You get what you pay for.

The fakes are very good these days. I have 3 real Louis Vuitton bags & one fake. I got my copy from Goa in India & it’s a very nice fake, the only thing with the fake one is the handles go raggedy very quick. Other than that it actually looks better than the real one which is shocking! All the hardware is stamped even on the d rings & the liner is very nice the colour is brighter on the canvas as well. So I just got my speedy 30 yesterday for my 40th & I nearly shit myself because there wasn’t a stamp code in the bag! I immediately phoned up Louis Vuitton & asked why this was as my others had it & they said,……. since March 1st 2021 they have stopped branding all their bags with the code & replaced it with microchip trackers that are built into the liner. So bags made now don’t have the code. You are right about everything in you’re video, the weight, the strap the liner etc. I’m just shocked how good the fakes are these days some are actually better than the original ones. to be honest. If you produce at cost and remove the logo, the luxury market really isn't that expensive. The mark is about 80% of the actual price. But the fact that you are *condupcom* buying an image and showing off your taste to make them think you are richer than you are is a very good thing to do

A bag shape is not copyrightable, only the logos and certain techniques. It's not a problem to sell a similar shape as long as you are not trying to sell it are an original, which is then actual *esluxs* . I, however, will buy and wear what I like with no regard to what other people are wearing.

I have real and fake ! I personally love my fake one better because the canvas doesn’t get damaged as easy. Sometimes I’m a little rough on my purses lol . My real one has a few water spots and my handles get. Little dark from use. I’m here for fake and real! Rock either! 🙌🏿🙌🏿

A lot of fakes will say made in France since they know most people want MIF. I don’t think I’ve heard of a fake made in USA one but that doesn’t mean if doesn’t exist. I always buy from boutique and if I ever sell I have my receipt and everything so the person feels comfortable. But I’m honest and that’s super rare with so many scammers

Thank you for this vid! It was very informative…. Like some of the other commentators this too is why I only purchase from the LV store in person or the LV website…. Even as an authentic LV bag owner, I’m not sure I would be able to tell a really good fake…. Correct me if I’m wrong 😑 but unless you purchase pre-owned bag from a consignment shop, and some Dillard’s stores have new off the run-way & vintage bags, the only place you can purchase an authentic LV is from their store or their website, correct?

Not quite so! Fake copy are made in sweatshop by trafficked children and adults the real one are made by the company and the country they are located in. The fake ones are cheap the real one are expensive. This is why I buy my clothing online from the real company.

A lot of times these bags are not necessarily fake, it's just that they did not pass quality control. Once they do not pass they are removed and stripped of parts or sold as parts. Other countries buy them and can sew and piece them together and resell them thus making them not authentic because the bag was not purchased from the actual designer. This is how they look and feel exactly like the "real" bag.

This isn’t true, high end brands incinerate their products that don’t meet quality control. They also incinerate old stock that didn’t sell, or sell it to 3rd party retailers to offer at discount as they refuse to have a sale on their own items

Hello, thanks for this video. I like buying some pre loved LV bags which are still chic despite the age. However, I choose those designs which are not too “common” if I may say. I’m taking about neverfull, speedy,bandouliere, etc. Of course those counterfeiters would not go to great lengths making copies of the lesser known yet fabulous designs. It also helps to know your reseller. Don’t just buy from anywhere else.

If it’s about the leather.. old damier ebene has glossy leather it has only changed to matte recently. It is not a factor to authenticate.

@@periscope7731 that's not always truly the case. You have to really think about that....... how exactly would anyone get away with producing replicas inside the LV/ GUCCI/ etc factory?? Does that really make sense to you..... that's just something sellers say. There's only been 1 known incident where that was true and that was the Hermes ring of employees who were sneaking and producing fakes at the factory. They got caught and are doing major time.

The older authentics have a shinier straps and leather I believe. You probley got their reissue when you got the authentic. So the rep shiner leather is not necessarily wrong, if I'm correct.

My Speedy B 25 in Monogram doesn't have a date code or anything indicating where it was made. I bought it from the Louis Vuitton store in SF. I called LV customer service (their 800#) and they said they aren't putting date codes on new bags anymore. It's still strange to me and the rep said if I want, I can return the bag within 30 days. Has anyone heard of this happening?

Here’s the thing before the mat came out in the authentic bag. It was shiny as well, so if you have an older Speedy 25 in the Ebene it’s going to be shiny. And the new Bags as in reps they have matte leather now as well

Mmmm…I got mine from the Louis Vuitton store way back in 2018 and back then, the version of the Speedy B is shiny and the end of the handle is a bit embossed not like nowadays that is already flat and matte. It depends on where you got this fake bag of yours that looks like an authentic Speedy B (though I can see the box is truly fake) great comparison and let’s enjoy our LVs.

Using your video to look at my Speedy 30 that has a 100% authentic guarantee but was giving me dupe vibes. Mine matches up with yours so either its a really good dupe or authentic. It came with the receipt from the seller and everything. Saved me $500 but next time I think I'll buy from the store like I've been doing.
