What a fab chat and very informative....pitty about the interviewer a complete lack of respect and making joking comments with under tone directing her personal life very well handled by Esther, very intelligently handled her by returning nothing less than cheering from the crowd.

I actually liked her. She didn't interrupt Esther, like sometimes happens, and she fully acknowledged her expertise. At instances, indeed, she gave a bit of a snobbish tone of voice but I figured it was for the purpose of cracking a joke. Also, Esther needs and wants to hear the opinions of people about what she sais. Even though she is the expert indeed, her expertise is based on people's opinions and experiences. That goes for expertises that are even not related to peoples' behaviour. Finally, this was not a setting of a lecture. If it was a lecture than there should not have been the agree/no agree comments. But, it was an interview, and in an interview there should be given the opinion of the interviewer. They serve the purpose of giving it a flow of the questions, cause this was a talk (hence, multiple people talk and give knowledge, by exspertise and by experience) rather than a lecture (where only the expert talks, and there are questions where again only the expert answers and no opinions from the questioning side or someone else is given).

Loved Kara's respectful disagreement! I absolutely love Esther Perel, and count myself among the many who no longer have a sort of throne for anyone. I appreciated the balance that happened in that moment! The respect between both women that was expressed in the awkward moment is something I found encouraging. That said, I too am completely done with any word or action that lends itself to the LGBTQA community feeling the need to apologize. Thank you to all involved in making this dialogue possible!

I am grateful for this information. The interviewer could d with some improvements as she was obnoxious and assuming at times. Also, Ester is the expert! She didn't need the host to agree "right" to confirm it.

Is it unfair to say that the host, being Lesbian, may have less interest in the psychological journey of having conversations with men? Not an attack, just a question...

Too bad the person holding the camera forgot who was the most important person to film. Both people would have been great, but if you only filmed one of these women, it should have been Esther Perel.

When the world renowned expert you are interviewing says something within their scope of expertise and you interrupt to "agree to disagree" you leave little doubt of your hubristic, idealialogical, paradigm-locked closed mindedness.

Taoism has taught me that Yin(feminine) energy is actually superior to Yang(masculine) energy, although it appears opposite on the surface. It is the subtle feminine energy which properly motivates the masculine, and then the two energies do their cosmic dance. I believe that the modern feminist movement is responsible for much of the gender relational difficulties which have afflicted western culture, and I think Esther Perel represents a pendulum swing in the right direction - where people will again learn the cosmic dance of Yin/Yang energies and relationships will heal and thrive. I feel the feminist movement is pushing women to be male and that really throws everything out of balance.

@John Durant If you think feminism 'is pushing women to be male,' then respectfully, you do not understand feminism. Feminism is about equality of access to the array of life opportunities, for all people regardless of gender. It is _not_ about sameness or becoming like the other gender(s).

@@@rizzamaeong A woman who cultivates her Yin energies will discover her inner Goddess, and she will have the man of her dreams, and he will be highly motivated to accomplish the most on their behalf. Together they will live the abundant life of health, prosperity and fulfillment that so few are experiencing today, as most women are actively cultivating Yang energies.

everything made sense. although, cooking and housekeeping seems uncool now. even sounds subservient and lacks resources to pay for slaves. don't men need women to be more like men in some ways?
@johndurant8687

@@rizzamaeong Every human being is equipped with unique potentials to be developed. If you examine the Yin/Yang symbol you'll notice that within Yin there is Yang, and within Yang there is Yin. This symbol is in motion also. When these energies are properly balanced, the two become one energy and each is enhanced and growing. There are no distinct duties for each individual energy, they are simply complimentary of each other. This can look very different from couple to couple depending on their unique qualities. What is important is that like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle, that each piece fit properly and belong to the same puzzle.
