I live in Australia so we don't see many of these but when I was driving my truck years ago (well as American's call them 18 wheels) the police called for some trucks that were ahead of this car to fill the lanes so myself and six other trucks drove side by side and we slowed the driver down to a stop and the police blocked him in from behind. It turned out to be a 15yr old kid. He told the police when he come up to the trucks he wasn't going to take them on so he stopped. The kid is now out of jail and is a truck driver. He loves his job and helps the police as much as he can. The police still to this day ask for help from the truck drivers.

Situations like this are what prompts people to wish the government (local, state or fed) would just bring the chopper down in front of the guy, have the door gunner wave at the driver just before they put some rounds through the engine block.

Isn't car jacking against the law. Same as not registering a gun or buying stolen guns. Can some one please read the laws to the criminals because they obviously are not informed. Hey, how about passing a law making it illegal to not read the laws. And make a Red Flag Law if you suspect some one did not read the laws. Yeah, that will fix it.

here in the UK we usually have speed limit gantries over all lanes at regular intervals (if you slow traffic down you may crawl but not have a jam) if you had those in the states you could effectively block lanes to bottleneck someone into spike strips by casuing (minor) traffic jams. you don't even need chase vehicles, just a chopper and control rooms. also it's time we used spike NETS, that deflate tyres but tangle up the wheels so the vehicle stops dead.

whats crazy is that the commentators, like this one, are INSIDE a helicopter that is zoomin around and changing altitude, dropping, lifting, twisting. How one can calmly comment, stay sharp and not puke everywhere is amazing to me
