Speaking as a system admin, there is a delay in applications starting up using the startup folder of the start menu (as shown in the video). The video is 100% right, and it works so please don't take this as a criticism, it is a great video. If you want a slightly faster start up of Bigbox, use a scheduled task to launch it. The schedule task should run on the Users group, normal privileges, trigger "At log on of any user", with Bigbox exe as the action.

Brilliant. Also, I suggest you download Windows classic shell and customize the taskbar and make it match the background image and give it a deep translucence. That way it will “hide” right away. It’ll be very subtle. You can even customize the button to blend

You should also change the Lockscreen wallpaper the image you see were you would type in your password to start windows if you had one. also if you don't want to delete the trash can you can change the icon to a game character.

LauncherforKodi. It let's u use kodi shell (no need to clear your desktop), set start up delay and focus the application back. i also advise to enable game mode in your antivirus. Works like a charm...

same thing can be done for Kodi for those who like to use kodi and launch bigbox from within kodi

You can also start Bigbox in Windows 8 Metro shell like Kodi and you will didn´t se the Desktop! greets from Germany

Hope you dont mind me asking, Im having a big problem, since the new windows update my arcade controls will not function when I boot up my pc with launchbox, I keep having to go into my arcade cabinet to disconnect and reconnect my arcade buttons usb socket, then it works again, but I dont want to keep having to remove my buttons panel from the cabinet to reconnect it!

i know this an old video. i have come up with an issue where im trying to launch right into bigbox but from a second hard drive i have on the same machine. so the boot up occurs on the c drive but all the files are on the e drive. i make a copy of the bigbox.exe on move it into shell:startup, but the path looks like a long path to startup folder on the c drive . what am i needing to do ? thanks in advance

No no noooo. The simpliest way to do it: In windows search type "edit group policy" Now we search for "custom user interface" it is under User Configuration\Administrative Templates\System. Now you have chose enable and under options to write the path for the program we want to start up instead of explorer, for example c:/launch box/bigbox.exe. Perfect way for an arcade cabinet. To reopen explorer again exit bigbox and press alt+ctr+del and open task manager, new task and write explorer.exe. Back to normal windows.
