Easier to drop both the subframes then transfer the motor/trans to the good one and reinstall the good one... It's kinda a PITA to pull it from the top. Rebolt the empty sub in to be able to move it. BEEN THERE, DONE THAT!!!

For the longest time I felt you were just doing this just for the sake of putting out videos and making money from them, but after listening to the end of this video it's clear I misjudged you, I can see now that the hustle is not born from greed but by the great desire to just do better. Keep pushing Randy, great respect for sharing your life story . Love from Barbados.

Hey Randy! There are 3 mounts that hold that package into the car. 1 on the Driver's side on top of the transmission. 1 on the bottom of the transmission (you showed this in your video) and one of the passenger side under the coolant recovery tank. You will also need to pull both CV shafts and those front lower subframe arms. The ECU also has a harness that stays attached to the car so you will have to disconnect that as well. Getting the driver's CV out (for me) was fun, but you have a lift so it should be much easier. This engine/transmission package is really designed to come out from the bottom. On my parts car, I pulled from the top and it was miserable. The way I ended up getting it out was to jack up the body of the car, use my front end loader and chain up the engine and transmission and drop it down. I did not pull the subframe as I needed the car to still roll to get it out of my shop. Since you have a lift, this engine and transmission should be a piece of cake to drop. Good luck! *EDIT* - There are also 2 fuel lines on the passenger side of the car, by the strut tower that you will need to disconnect. The lines for the heater core are on the middle/driver's side and those will need to be disconnected as well prior to removal. These are a little difficult to get to if, like me, you have big hands! lol.

Hi Randy - This is a great 5-STAR fantastic, interesting, captivating, all-around wonderful video. You have your GROVE back buddy! Just the right length - you began with an update concerning Del City, the cars, your shop, the property, your landlord, etc. You then worked on the Dodge Dart. You finished with some personal items about your new house, your life, etc. The only way it could have been better is if you had worn those gloves on the shelf. This is exactly the type of video that will get you to 200,000 subscribers. That reminds me, I don’t remember you mentioning reaching the 150,000 subscriber milestone. Congratulations on everything - and keep up the good work. Jim in Florida

Randy, it is nice and brings us all closer when you share your past. Something is rough I think for all of us 'in our own way' with lots being self induced. HOWEVER, HOWEVER, HOWEVER.... Glad you did share as it makes me/us appreciate all the hard work you do and the sweat you shed which makes you a real person with the guts to try anything for the good that may come out of it. That's HUGE, good buddy and helps so many other people along with the inspiration it provides. You get cut and we feel it too. I think you should talk about your past occasionally but the emphasis needs to always be going FORWARD because you have so much to offer.. Tell you this also, you and I share something being, don't tell me NO (NOT in our vocabulary). I may have to do a lot of work to get it done but I will get it done and I want it done NOW! And never tell me no. I watch you and it's seeing me in a mirror. GOD bless. Sonny (CT) PS: Randy - the new trailer. Put a WINCH from Harb Frt on the end the tongue is on so you can pull that occasional car up for non starters or breakdowns.

It doesn't matter where you are, but where you are going. Nine years ago I was a broke security guard. Now I make six figures and don't feel like I deserve it. All it took was changing the people around me. I'm glad for the people who are around me now telling me what is possible, and not telling me to accept my lot in life. Keep bringing the content.

I owned a shop in Michigan for 40 yrs. and scrapped and reassembled cars ---TIP: save all bolts and clips and undamaged parts and put all the damaged parts way out of the way! Don't leave one good screw on the pulled junk (That hardware pile will save your butt on future cars!) The good spare parts removed put out of the way if they aren't going on this car! Salvage everthing the Wiper blades to shift knob and little relays and switches They are valuable on future fixes or you can trade parts (Let Weird Beard see the stash you will create) Good luck Randy REMEMBER to save all parts from that parts car!

I know I'm probably to late Randy, but read the HOA's rules and bylaws very careful. Most suck. I got caught up in that mess. Randy, please words of advice (KZfaq comments privilege lol) 1. Eye protection! Those thousands of pretty orange sparks are molten steel. Not eyeball compatible. 2. Gloves good idea (you already noticed why!) 3. Ear protection, especially with grinder 4. Don't push so hard on the grinder, let the disc do the work. 5. Those hose clips have a small hole on the clip you put a small screwdriver in, bend it back slightly and it'll pop right off! Good luck with everything though, done plenty of engine replacements over the years, and no longer want to do any more :-)
