GC Mah, your reviews are always honest and entertaining. However you used to do the boot test by showing how many bags / stroller could fit in and would be useful if you could continue doing so for all your car review and it does show to potential customers how practical it is the boot space. The x70 for instance has good capacity on paper but in real life use is not so good

I'm the Serena C27 owner since 2019, really no regret to have her until now. FYI, if you look for powerful car, don't think about it.

My one week old Serena C27 shudders intermittently for a second or two when accelerating in the range of about 20kph to 50kph. It's like a mild shudder feeling in a manual car where u release the clutch pedal too quickly. Just dropped off the car at Nissan for first 1000km servicing and the service advisor tells me the shudder is a normal S-Hybrid car behaviour & shudder happens in older models S-Hybird also. Do u experience any shudder problems with your C27?

Always been a fan of your videos GC Mah. Now about the car. A bit surprised that you're an owner. But at the end of the day, janji you happy. Anyways, that missing button, that small screen for reverse camera, and tons of missing features for that amount of money. I can't lah. Was eyeing this car at first but caught the missing features as I was watching a bunch of videos posted online. Had to pass.

Hi gc nice review...to be honest my wife was eyeing this car..but having owned a j32 nissan teana ..and its ensuing horrors of sub par nissan electronics, especially the keyless and the fragile steering lock sensor, i wanted to purchase this car with Nissan's extended warranty...but after reading through the extended wareanty TnCs for year 6 and 7, ETCM apparently only warrants engine, transmission and steering box of its vehicle after year 6 and 7, was so disappointed, and gotten a 2016 mazda 6 touring instead....and am happy with the decision...

@@gcmah agree GC...but the horrors of owning my last teana 2010 j32 250xv 2.5 v6...especially the failling electronics and steep replacements costs...not to mention the sucky aftermarket warranty provided by ETCM...have decided to move away from Nissan offerings for good..crying shame really as the serena hybrid is a decent product aimed at families..but concept is far off from actual execution..

The auto lock is not available due to regulations. Sadly it doesnt allow for auto lock upon braking and if there is auto lock, the system must be able to unlock itself in an accident so most car manufacturers just took it off. Easy way out

just my 2 cents on the the downside mentioned, The reverse sensor display on further screen due to 1. chances r some might change the entertainment monitor. 2. mayb nissan follow aviation term, forwad facing cockpit whereby ur eyes level not far away from the front/side view, rather look down during reverse. safety reason. The auto lock wise, ive read it somewhere there r cases auto lock causes safety concern as some death reported. Anyway, just my opinion.. dun kill me..

Just confirm with my salesman, the new Serena J Impul 2020 now come with steering wheel volume button & also front parking sensor..only lack 2 features which is rain sensor & auto lock..better than nothing in 2020 😂

@@autobuzzmy In stead of front parking sensor. You can actually toggle the camera button switch to have front and site Cam view to be displayed on Dash. Some 3rd party accessories shop add on can display it out on the HU..

Being a c27 owner for a year, the issue I mostly concerned about this one is lagging while roaming at slow speed(20-30kph) during traffic jam. Feeling like driving a manual car without a license .

@@tchang6451 Yup, I do. From my almost 3 years experience with the car, now I think it’s related to the hybrid system. The lagging/shudder feeling might be caused by hesitation of kicking in the hybrid system because when my hybrid system was totally down( the big battery was almost dead), that issue was gone as well. You might try to control pedal more precisely. If it won’t help,you’d better to let Svc center check for you asap.

@@liciece Noted & thanks for the advise. Wonder why Nissan engineers did not address this shudder. I was worried tt it might be a Nissan CVT problem which I hv heard much about. Also my Serena speedometer shows 10% faster than my waze or google, which I tested to be accurate in other cars. Then the sliding door movement was not smooth when the car is parked slightly tilted. And the retractable window blinds makes a buzzing sound at certain speed. I am beginning to question my decision to buy this car.

@@tchang6451 The CVT problem was seen on old c26 & officially they said it had been been solved after that, so should not be a common issue for c27. For speedometer,as we know that C27 has different wheel size(15inch,17inch,18inch),the speedometer might show some reasonable diferences. Most of speedometer on cars are not accurate. For the sliding door,yes,i also notice it's not moving smoothly while parking tilted.,luckily still working properly. I think Senera is not as good as I expected ,but then I don't think there are any other choices in Malaysian market within the same price range.

Not really. It only happens when the emergency brake kicks in when you're too close to an object (i.e. wall), apart from that, its generally very smooth when you are adjusted to the brake and accelerator.

For those new immigrants to Singapore who can bring one car that they had owned for at least two years in without tax or something like that. The version thieves in Malaysia like should be Not-hybrid. This is thieves don`t like. The version Singapore sells is full electric which is low intelligence. I GUESS this have potential for trade down (age of car) for some margin

I dont get why need an automatic rain sensor? Like if its rain dont tell me you not going to use the wiper? If you want every single things to be automated why dont just order a grab. Then u dont have to worry about no automatic wiper, light, etc. Humans these days! First world problem!

For a family car, it is ok.. tapi Nissan Malaysia ni kedekut.. byk features serena ni kat luar lagi bagus. Antaranya electric brake. Apalah salahnya maintain features tu. Masuk malaysia semua cut. Servis pun mahal..
