Jack Sperou yup except the R32 has a VR6 formation (that's why it called like that) and it's more like a pure engine to me!! not saying that the GTRs engine is not but you know has more electric things sensors exhaust noise is electronic manipulated etc.

Had one of these many years ago and it was a good all round car, however it sounded better then it went, i owned it for 2 years before moving on to pastures new, was great to hear one again !

This is one of the earliest Dual clutch gearboxes. VW was the first car manufacturer to invent the dual clutch gearbox and use it on the beetle and mk4 R32. It has a lot of significance in automotive history.

It’s a dual clutch, so not exactly an automatic in the traditional sense.

@@ddevulders sorry I didn’t mean to sound like a prat. My dad had a sunbeam tiger bored to 4.7 with no silencers and it sounded epic so I fully understand and appreciate the v8 soundtrack. But to have (albeit low powered ) a hatchback with a 3.2 that makes that noise is just awesome.

The motor for your window has more te endure then those few time you full throttle with that engine thats on operating tempurature. Play more with the car then the window. We allready know how a R 32 sounds

I am the same way w the window, I have to have the perfect temperature and air coming in. I drive an 04, I’m in the process of cleaning it up, it has 100k miles and need to redo the seats and new paint job. Even though I don’t like automatics now that I’m getting older I might be on the look out for an 08.
