Love this Wildcat. Had an uncle that had a couple growing up. I always thought they were classy and cool. Not, overdone like Cadillac and not on every corner like a Chevy. Little more cleaner style than a Starfire(and I love Olds Starfires). Wildcat is definitely cool..!!

That was indeed Vintage Bill. Bill, your sincerity is very much appreciated. With regard to the weather there in Florida, I could simply not imagine living in such heat and humidity for so much of the year. I live in Southern Ontario where we endure some of what you are speaking of for only about 3 -4 months every summer, and as such, am one of those "Chipper Canadians" that you regularly reference. I have a great appreciation of you and wish you the best my friend.

What an absolutely classy boat that Wild “thing” Cat is. I love how the front bumper wraps around to the front of the front wheels, which are absolutely gorgeous. The Canadians are probably fighting to get a ride in that beautiful black interior. Wow, that car was made back when convertibles were made to be parade queens. I can just imagine a beautiful blond sitting on the boot. Great video as always Bill. Thanks for the entertainment.

About ten years ago I was walking through a salvage yard when I stumbled across three of these Wildcats sitting one next to another!! Now this is an interesting car: rare, little used or seen nameplate. Love the Wildcat side marker, the brushed chrome (or aluminum?) side rocker strips, and the chrome surround of the gas filler door. Nice central console too. That bin was pretty big (as was everything else in the 60s according to Bill). The 455 ft-Lb of torque is impressive. But that rag top seals the deal. And what a nice exterior color: eye catching. Buick made some cool cars...this is one of them.

Hey Bill, Wow, what an excellent peace on the 64 Wildcat. You deserve a lot of credit to be able to present but even find as beautiful example as you have! I’ve got to give Chrysler credit for inventing the full size muscle car segment when they came out with the 300 in 1955. When I was 15 in 1970 my neighbor Andy tried to get me to buy one of his friends 1957 Chrysler 300 with a 392 - 375 HP Hemi. “Start working on it now and be done when you get your license he said”. It was 13 years old, had bad body rust over the head lights and lower rear quarters and looked enormous. Kick my self for not listening to Andy! A bachelor, Andy had some nice Grand Prix’s so he knew what had power under the hood! Interesting how GM got on this segment with the Impala SS in 1961. And, like Oldsmobile in 1964 and Chevy and Buick in 1965 joined the intermediate muscle car segment after the GTO introduction Pontiac, Olds and Buick follow with their full size MC’s in 1962 with the Grand Prix, Starfire and Wildcat. My Dad had a 1962 Invicta convertible, silver, black top, red interior. His Uncle Jim had a 1962 & 1965 Wildcat coup, both white, black vinyl top red interior. I remember the Wildcat had more bling in the interior and had heavier chrome rear light bezels like the Electra. Ford had the Galaxie 500 XL and Plymouth the Fury. These cars offered the (usually) middle aged gentleman more bling and exclusivity and I think that was the purpose of this full size MC segment. When you drove up in one people noticed and gave you a wave or thumbs up. They had to pay a little more but for all the nice options they offered it was worth it. When I was a young teenager riding around with my Dad, uncles or friends that drove these cars I remember getting the looks, the smiles and it would make your hart pound with excitement! Love reading your subscribers comments and I know I talk to much!!! Bill, thank you for triggering my mind back the days of real American superiority and wonder.😀

My dad's first new car was a 1967 Wildcat, with a 430ci, 360hp engine...by then, the nailhead had been discontinued..That 67 was very rapid, 060 was in 7.7 seconds--really quick for such a heavy car. My dad racked up 330,000 miles on that beast, with no major troubles...but a drunk came around a corner, and slammed into the parked Buick. The frame was bent, end of story for that magnificent car. Buick had a slogan back then..."When better cars are built, Buick will build them".

I had remote mirrors, drivers side spotlightt, and those great looking chrome Buick mag style wheels.Of course it had The 401 nailhead 445 Engine with turbo 400 trans. The color was Arctic White. The chrome was flawless. I didn't have AC. It had great vents that were as good as AC. The car was Superb in every way. Rock solid, great ride and handling, great power, and very reliable. I tell everyone that is why I would really rather have a BUICK.

My dad had a new Centurion, I don't know the year. I used to call it the Whale. Two doors that were huge. It was a cream color. I took my driver's license road test with it and passed when I was seventeen which was in 1974. Just an enormous beast of a car. I remember having to parallel park for the test, (New York), and my student driver teacher taught us a little trick to parallel park. It looked like there was no way you'd successfully do it, especially in that monster car. The tester sitting next to me was looking around in panic when I cut the wheel all the way to the left and backed in to the spot absolutely perfect. Ah, what memories. My Dad was a GM guy. I remember we had a Pontiac Tempest before the Buick.

My parents bought a 1964 Buick Electra, same year I graduated high school. It was a four-door sedan, same blue as this car, white painted top, factory, blue brocade upholstery. A base model it had wind up windows and seats like a LeSabre. A terrific car, still vividly remember it. It was regularly driven at 80 mph, full load, a/c, bias ply tires, drum brakes, only two seat belts in the front. When they bought it, I was bitterly disappointed that they didn't chose an Avanti or a Riviera. First year for turbo hydramatic.

One gorgeous automobile! We did a lot of Friday night cruising in that car. I had a 1963 Old Ninety Eight Luxury Sport Coupe which, though much different, had the same basic center console. I really liked the Reverse gear below Low gear especially when rocking the car out of snow. Unfortunately government regulations did away with that. Thanks for all your efforts.

Great car! Love the older models that are a bit unusual or rare. Keep up the good work.

"A Fistful of Dollars" was Clint's first iconic role... FANTASTIC. "A Hard Day's Night" is outstanding, and underated as a cinema classic.

They don't use their indicators in Australia either Bill, it's like they're painted on the car. I've seen a huge increase in people just too lazy to use the bloody things! Great car and vid Bill, keep em coming!

They are either extremely young, "snowflake" types, who do not give a crap....or really old folks, who should not be driving!

@@curbozerboomer1773 …. This is in large part, probably true. With the snowflakes, it’s just stupidity. With the oldsters it’s just the natural progression of life where they just don’t give a damn about anything anymore and unfortunately pose a danger on the roads.

A beautiful car, Bill, thanks for showing us this one. We really think you and "Penelope" should start a real collection. This one is a keeper, it's money in the bank that can only go up in value. Cheers.

Regarding the speed buzzer, there might be an issue between where it looks like where you set it and goes off. The minimum is somewhere between 20-30. Our neighbor had a 64 Wildcat hardtop in the early 70's and my sister would dial it down just to piss her off when she was driving around town. My 89 Riviera had one that you could program through the touch screen CRT. I kept mine at the max setting of 85. When it went off I would just get a nasty look from my wife.
