I had one of these as a loaner last week when my diesel car was in for service. I was given the top spec premium plus GT with 300 miles on it. I was quite impressed with it and thought it drove really well. I found the rear view mirror blocked the front view quite a bit as because of the sharply raked windscreen it was placed half way down the screen as viewed from drivers seat. I also found the infotainment screen a little fiddly and couldn't find a home screen. I'm sure there's one there so I guess I just need more time with it. I seriously thought about buying one until I saw the price. The top spec one came in at just under £40,000! On top of that you can add about £500 for a home charger and installation. That's a lot for an electric motor and some lithium batteries!

Great review thanks Bryan. Just bought one and totally agree with your findings. It is a delight to be in but I have yet to work out how to control cabin temperature while driving!

I would love to get 170 miles out of a charge. So far I am getting closer to 120miles per charge which is disappointing when they claim 214miles. Most of my journeys amount to 30 miles round trip and I think I’d be lucky to get 4 trips before having to charge up. I quite like the car but range is an issue.

Was any range testing done in eco mode?. Seen a video on the eC4 that says eco, on the same power train, gives 30+ more miles so realistic 180-190 in that mode?. Choice at the moment coming down to e2008 or eC4 and range, ground clearance and boot space coming in as key factors. Any advice appreciated!.

Hi Steve, thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. I didn't test it in eco mode but I wouldn't expect there to be much difference between the e2008 and e-C4 in terms of range. Both use the same battery and motor, so both should be as efficient as each other. There is probably a gnat's chuff more ground clearance on the Peugeot, boot space is similar, but the Citroen is (in my opinion) more comfortable. Rear headroom is better in the Peugeot as it has a higher roofline. Hope that helps.

So would I be right in thinking, in your view, its just down to whether comfort or size is more important with the other factors being too close to split them realistically?

@@SteveJones-om6ks Thanks for your kind words, and recommendations. Every little helps! In a nutshell, yes, that is pretty much it. The Peugeot is a good car, albeit not a brilliant one. I actually prefer the DS3 Crossback as it has a bit more "character", although it is noticeably less practical. The e-C4 has some of that character and the comfort, but in a bigger package that puts it on a par with the e2008. If it were me (and I needed the space) then I'd be walking into a Citroen showroom. If you were to choose to hand over your money to a Peugeot salesman, however, I couldn't criticise you. Drive both, and then you will be able to decide what is right for you. I was also in the market and went with the e2008 , looks swung it for me as personally I think it's the best looking EV at my price range . I have a Niro PHEV at the moment so didn't want another , Kona looked a bit smaller , along with the ID.3, a few reviewers did say though that the comfort and ride quality/suspension in the eC4 is meant to be amazing. Enyaq looks nice and big but once specced turned out expensive. I have a home charger and don't drive long distances so the range won't be a problem for me

@@daisy180709 irony there is that I went with the eNiro in the end!. The e2008 was too small for what I needed and the local Citroen mob don’t seem to be incentivised to sell EV yet!.

The Peugeot is still a really good car, and to be honest, it will depend on your budget. If you are looking at the top of the range GT Line car, and are in the high £30k bracket, go and drove the Kia Niro EV. I'd say that is about the best crossover EV on the market right now, although not the cheapest. If you are closer to the £30k end however, I'd say also look at the Hyundai Kona and MGZS as two cars worthy of your consideration, albeit the Kona at that price will most likely be the 39kWh car. Don't dismiss the Peugeot, but do try the others.

My next door neighbour but 1 has just bought a 2021(70 plate) E-2008 gt line with 40"000 miles for £14'000. It's in pearlescent white and certainly looks the part. Compared to our 2024 kona N line s EV its certainly a size smaller, but peugeot do know how to make an interior look appealing (not something the kona can claim)

Electric vehicles are just better. No noise, no emissions, less fuel costs, less maintenance costs. Gasoline and diesel are OLD polluting technology. So last century. Electric cars, electric trucks, electric buses, electric trash haulers, electric snow blowers, electric lawn mowers, electric snow mobiles, electric water craft, electric garden tools, electric mechanic tools, electric motor cycles, electric bicycles, electric scooters, electric farm tractors, electric construction equipment, electric delivery vehicles, ...... everything is going electric. No worries about starting after sitting for a few months. Gas always needs repairs.

How can the digital display on the e2008 be better than Audi's virtual cockpit... you can't even have the full sat nav screen on the main binnacle, let alone showing on both screens. IMO Peugeot is quite inferior... unless you know something I don't?

I'm not sure they do advertise it as an "off-roader". It's a crossover, so higher in ride height but just two wheel drive, the sort many manufacturers are offering these days.
