Welcome back to our brand new detailing restoration series. In these videos we take beaten down cars and rescue and revive them to their former glory.
In this series, we will be rescuing this 2003 Vauxhall Astra that hasn't seen a wash mitt in its life. We will cover all aspects from your basic wash to paintwork correction and beyond.
In Episode 2 we wash the wheels and inner arches followed by tar removal and fallout removal and finish up with clay barring.
We hope you enjoy.

Another good watch guys. Nice to see a proper average Joe's every day car being cleaned instead of the usual videos cleaning a car that was nearly mint in the first place 👌 Keep up the good work 🤙

I have to keep watching to see how you get the stain off from under the fuel door. It’s great therapy though.

I think the paint has actually crazed from being soaked in petrol all its life! We shall take a closer look during the polishing stage and see if we can rectify it or not.

Awesome video series. Just one quick question I've never been too sure about but do you dry the car before tar stage and fallout stage?
@TheDetailHunters

Glad you enjoyed the video 😊. In regards to tar removers, it is generally good practice to ensure the surface is not soaking wet but it does not need to be totally dry. Most tar removers tend to emulsify when they come Into contact with water which renders them not as effective. This is the only reason why you would dry first. Hope this helps.

@@TheDetailHunters ok cool many thanks. So basically let it dry naturally or pat it down slightly before doing them then? Is it always recommended wash after tar stage?
@TheDetailHunters
@TheDetailHunters 5 жыл бұрын
@@AaronYeoman pretty much yes. If you have some good sealant still on the surface then a slow hose can make the water fall off enough so you don't have to contact the surface. As for washing after, this is essential really as far removers will leave residue behind that will hinder the performance of any sealant you apply after. If you are using abrasives or clay after then it is not quite as important but still good practice. Hope that helps 😊

Panel wipe and machine polish next? 😉. Two other things, I said shitty Astra on the last vid but it's clear they were actually using decent paint considering how bad the car was allowed to get. And did you find out about the gloves from episode one?

They failed with some products in them so we took the decision to remove them from the range.

When you're gonna put that much effort into a car, at least put on a new set of wheelcaps.
