The tasks examples you are showing are actually easier to do yourself than to prompt. It's essentially a nice how to guide or help function supplement, but it's not really replacing/automatic the task as much as it is answering the question of how to do something that's in your mind, which you don't know how to build in excel. The crazier thing will be when AI can synthesize input data that is somewhat incongruous. i.e., I private companies financial statements that are not 100% standard year to year and/or has errors (e.g. the balance sheet figures do not balance, so it calls it out and inserts a line with a plug figure representing the delta)

in the last line of the Macro instructions, you should have written "Highlight these specific cells in orange : C16 - C18 ....". You must always clearly define what you want.

Chat gpt can definitely help with excel however when i gave it some exercises i had during my excel exam in college it made a few mistakes. Usually when it was about financial functions.

Great work!! except that those macros are not dynamic ... it is hard coded. I suggest making dynamic tables and automate using buttons and maybe showing some forms.

WACC = weighted average cost of capital

Cost of capital considers opportunity cost. For example if you invest into bakery, you like a investor wouldnt want to less return of investment (cash from investment/cash into investment) than offers other similar bakery. This is your cost of capital. BUT companies dont use cash just from investors (also called equity=own capital). They also use cash from debt like banks loans and bonds (foreign capital? dont know exactly word in english for it). Foreign capital has also costs - interest and other costs. But dont forget that companies can this type of costs use for tax expense. So calculate cost of capital for overall company you have to calculate weighted cost of capital for own capital and foreign capital. WACC is method for calculating cost of capital for a company. WACC = (EQUITY/ TOTAL CAPITAL) * cost of capital for equity + [(DEBT/ TOTAL CAPITAL) * cost of capital for debt * (1 - tax rate)] 1 - tax rate => using this costs for tax expense Sry for my english

OF course you can use chatgpt to create macros but you will have to have an expert understanding of the program to even take the first step

It seems Chat gpt is really just geared towards people who are already experts in programming and spreadsheets etc…I wish we could have a tool that actually was about helping people with good ideas but don’t know all these other tools. It should at least be able to generate a spreadsheet for you so you have a basic visual experience to know what do do next.
