I saw a lot of these in the UK in -- are you ready? -- 1981. I can't figure out why we haven't used these until now.

They've been using those in British Columbia Cda for yrs. There's usually one person in a hlf ton operating a remote, most likely at the entrance to the const.

I didn't see anyone but there may have been someone watching. But with today's technology it could easily have been fully automated. Who knows and who cares. :P

great job. as we all know computers never fail. i can see it now a 1or 2 mile long single lane (one lane only). and traffic meets about the half way point. 50 cars and trucks one way and another 50 from the other way. no nobody can move as a set of doubles is not so easy to back up. and lots of car drivers can not back up there car. but used by a number of company's to move the less than truck load freight. lots of people will be mad and i bet a couple will run out of gasoline before then can move.

There's a couple of spots right there to put a couple of people to work.

I assume there's an human flagger on the other end of the construction area controlling the automatic flagger. If the human flagger doesn't have a clear view of the other end, I can see some problems developing.

Nope. There was another automated one at the other end. I guess I should have shown that part too.

Technology is crazy... Ive never seen one of those before either. TBH its kind of cool but sad because that machine is taking away one more job that a person could have. Look how slow the arm raises. A real live person you dont have to wait on to move their arm up.. smh. LOL
