Wireless Whiskers automatic cat feeder figures out your cat's allowance and puts up to 8 pets on individual diets. Automatically! Keeps the dog out of the cat's food. Greets all pets by name and can selectively lock out specific pets to prevent them from eating others food, or for Smart access to special or prescriptions diets.

people make out animals have having way more feelings then they really do. I have two cats and well take cared of, but I don't have illusions about how important I am to them.

We have one of these and it works well for our cats. We had one cat that compulsively eats and was getting overweight. It is tricky dieting cats when you have 3 of them with very different appetites and energy levels. They have never tried to break in and the tags have always registered. They never fight over it either. It might depend on the personality of the cat. Our cats aren't starving, so just shrug and walk away when the doors close.

All my pets have open food in feeders the dogs stay in theirs the cat sits on top and watches she has hers in another room and outside cat has his on porch and the other has his in sons room all free eat as they please no over weight animals or gorging ☺😇 thank God

You can set separate allowance for up to 8 pet on each feeder. However to separate food types you need one feeder per food type. You can then program access of pet to a specific food type(s) as you desire.

If you go to their website, it looks as if each pet is assigned a wifi tag for their collar, so when the animal approaches the feeder, it reads which tag it is and responds according to the instructions you have programmed for that pet.

+Kat B You can put a bowl of wet food under the doors and all the functions of the feeder work the same. The only downside is wet food spoils and needs daily replenishing.

That won't work for my cats.. when my cat smells that food inside that container, she will try to open and will never fail to break it... She destroys anything that has food in it!
