This may be the greatest Ford Mustang of all time, though that's a high bar to clear - but the 2025 Ford Mustang GTD is up to the challenge. That's because it's a track-focused beast packing 800-hp from its supercharged V8. You also get active aero, semi-active suspension, a LOT of carbon fiber, and massive tires. It's crazy this is street legal, and it's even crazier that it might just go under the 7-minute mark at the Nürburgring.

I think they said 'yes' to their Chief, Jim Farley. He has, in his own words, been envisioning this Mustang for 5 decades. Jim is an active amateur racer and said he can't wait for Ford to take this car to the European makers like Porsche, Mercedes and Aston Martin! He commented " This is a sophisticated techno badass." He is the kind of performance minded guy you want heading your car company, and very few companies have!

Ford's Voodoo V8 in the GT350 and GT350R went to 8230RPM (iirc, may be 8250RPM). It put out 526hp naturally aspirated, so a supercharger or turbo added would give at least another 150hp if not upwards of 200hp... probably need to beef up the internals but imo would be totally worth it.

I worked on a racecar team. The price tag is actually pretty cheap for what you get. To people that can afford to buy 800 hp racecars, $300K is change. What will turn people off is the application. Pure badass car. I hope to drive one once they actually come out.

My favourite mustang is the 1967 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 . Thank you Nicolas Cage one of my fav actors !! I like this one ! It reminds me of the the Mercedes Black Series C63 AMG . Only If DTM allowed imports this car would be a good contender . I think this car will be included in WEC-LMGT3 division for next year .

Well it’s not just a mustang with a body kit on. It’s essentially the GT3 race car, a freakin race car which happens to be road legal. That alone requires gobbs amount of $$$.

@@jesusm2159 the transmission is not from the GT500, its a brand new transaxle transmission 8 speed. Gt500 is 7 speed lol The engine is a more powerful version of the one from the gt500 now with dry sump oiling system and new dual air inlet supercharger. So you couldn’t find me a car with those characteristics I mentioned earlier😂. This car is not for you, thats why Ford created the ecoboost which starts at 30k.

I see what you're saying but GTD is the racing class it will be competing in. As far as the Shelby Golf thing, you do know they make a Shelby F-150 right? And when Ole Shel' worked for Dodge he came out with that little Shelby Omni (?) GLH (Goes Like Hell)?! That little car was running with the Mustangs and Vettes of the day on the strip! It was a turbo four front-wheel drive! Shelby building a 4 cylinder car with front wheel drive?!! Who'da think it! The man was keeping up with new technology even as he got older and making it work for him. I don't think there is any car ever built whose performance he couldn't improve. He was one of the true Hot rod pioneers and he is missed! 😓😓

Thing is do they have their traction right because from what I have observed, the thing that let's Ford down in comparison to German cars like Porsche,BMW, Mercedes is traction control. Ford cars have a lot of power but most can not put the power down to the ground because of traction control issues 🧐🧐

Don't forget to include the GM cars in that statement as well. Much better than mustnag putting the power down... in spite of the fact that frod dohc motors have no low end torque to speak of. This only amplifies the issue if they ever do figure out how to generate good low speed power like GM LTx series engines.

Dude the GT500 has over 500 (to the wheels) torque at 2.5k rpm and maintains above 550 torque to the wheels all the way to 7k rpm. What the hell are you talking about that Ford motors lack low end torque? GT500 is faster to 60 and 1/4 mile than the Camaro ZL1 and Dodge Demon.

@@fordgtguy GT 500 chassis is a mess, even the frdo loving media talking heads have stated this. This is also why the ZL1/ZLE with over one hundred HP deficit out run it on a road course. especially after 2 or 3 hot lpas when the gt500 weight overuses the tires. And the ZL1/ZLE continue to lap with gt500 falling further and further behind each successive lap. Won't get into gt500 cooling issues on track, sure you know about these as well... do you? As for low-speed power... talking NA. For example gt, traction problems in NA form. GT uses the same chassis with the normal frdo bandaids applied but doesn't fix the root cause of the S197... oops, S550 chassis issues.

Camaro has owned msutng on a road course since the original 1LE came out in the late 80s. frod has been trying to catch up ever since and failing over and over and over. sad.

Look for Dealership prices starting At $650,000.. they want their 100% + $50,000 for the overhead profit . I will never buy an Automatic with the Paddle Shifters\ I get sleepy in Long Road Trips. I Lived with it for 7 years never again. Manual 3rd Pedal Forever I already have my 2022 Roush Mustang with the 3rd Pedal Fun Rev-Match Tremec 6 Speed Manual Transmission. MagneRide Suspension Roush tuned Springs much Lower than Mach 1, it also has the Intercooled Limited Slip Rear Differential.. Practically, an Up-tuned Mach1 Handling Pack. It's Serial Number 22.0001450R.. This is why i would never sell it not even if offered $1 million 👨🏻👍🏻🏎🏎🏁🏁🚩🚩

C7 EPA MPG 16 city/27 highway. Mustang GT 15 city/24 highway. I have a Mustang GT, that Corvette gets 30 mpg on the highway. I get 27 mpg on the highway. Stop driving your car with a lead foot. My stock Mustang GT makes slightly more power than a C7 and it's a bigger and heavier vehicle.

So another oversized archaic engine. F1 cars have 1.6 liter engine with 1000HP. The World is boiling from heat related CO2 emissions and these guys are spitting on those who suffer from it. Innovator... you are kidding right? Frod can't even build reliable flat plane crank engines or a gt350 that is truly "track ready". Only succeeding after 3 or so years of adding band aids to the gt350. When over at GM the 6th Gen Camaro SS 1LE is track ready off the showroom floor, and even comes with a track warranty. How about frod/shelby? Please list some of these frod mustnag "innovations"... I'm waiting.
