I can understand going from a V12 engine to a V8 Hybrid , but i can't understand the reasoning behind the headlight design .... It was a distinct Feature , i always new in my rear view mirror that I'm gonna be overtaken by a Bentley.... It was a feeling

Excellent review! RIP W12, but at least this powertrain isn't anemic, albeit more complicated in the name of fuel efficiency. Wonder how it will perform in IRL testing & long term. Those headlights remind me a little bit of the Baytur but I do miss the round quad headlights. My pops had a early MK1 Speed & those headlights made it stand out.

What about the boot space? This has been getting progressively smaller since 2018. I imagine you will be hard-pressed to get a briefcase in there now and they’ll certainly be no spare wheel, as there is in my 2016 GTC.

W12 has 659 hp and 900 Nm torque. 0-62 is 3.6 sec and top speed 208 mph The new one (V8 Hybrid) has 771 hp (112 hp more) and 1000 Nm (100 Nm more). Only 0.3 sec faster and same top speed. Plus the new one is heavier (+186 kg). It's only more efficient and less good looking.

@@Car10121-s I think that doing drag races with their quality standards will add more spice to the channel. CARWOW drag races are full of such time wasters and windy audio. Plus when they drag race I notice they don’t even bother with accurate results: I.e. I’ve noticed some cars with have full tanks of gas compared to other with less than a quarter

Sadly there will always be those who criticise anything new. I do not dislike the new headlight design and the "four headlight" concept in use in the "Continentals" since the 1960's, was becoming a little "mundane", to say the least. To me, Bentley has once again shifted the "benchmark" by which Performance "Supercars" will be judged. Performance, Acceleration, Top Speed etc. easily hold their own in the upper echelons of the automotive world and are far above what most purchasers will ever need or use, I suspect yet all the time combined with supreme comfort and ease of accessibility to and from the vehicle. To those who criticise the vehicles weight, I have had the experience of driving two radically different vehicles over the same 650 mile trip(+/- 8hrs, depending on time taken at border crossings)in a comparatively short space of time. One trip was in a small, lightweight Alfa Romeo Coupe, the second was in a Four Door, Range Rover V8.. Emerging at the end of the trip in the little "Alfa" I felt as though I had just somehow, managed to survive "8 Rounds with Muhammed Ali ". Getting out of the Range Rover after the same trip, I felt that I had just had a pleasant Sunday afternoon drive in the country. A vehicle's weight does help to provide more stability, better road handling and hence more comfort and safety for those travelling...Not so...?

they are without question unbelievably attractive pieces of engineering perfection but just being logical where on earth would a typical driver ever use that level of power, or even be competent enough to drive safely at high speeds. Just a bit of a conundrum but guess if you can afford excess its more of a status buy

If it's driven to its maximum range of 50 miles in EV mode - which most buyers are likely to do - then of course it'll need plugging in.

Yeah, 4 less cylinders... alright, understandable these days, power makes up for it somewhat, but there is one more problem... 2460kg is some 200kg more than the W12 and 300kg more than the V8... not that those ones were very light. I mean, it's a luxury GT, but still a little annoying, isn't it?

@@Neojhun all hybrids depreciate faster, I am not a hybrid hater, I love the versatility, but in this case it is a Bentley, who cares about 200 more horsepower, it is supposed to be like a mechanical watch, with all its down sides. If we learn anything from before, these cars are already not reliable, not expecting anything better with more complexity. Also, this same 4.0 v8 is used in a lot of cars, nothing feels like a choice for the consumer anymore

Yeah Bentley's going to lose a few over this one, although I like the headlight change, I'm not in love with it, secondly, they completely through the bright works out the window, that's all part of the touring experience. Bring back the w12. Hybrids and EVs are 💩💩💩. The character refinement and power delivery of a 12 cylinder is the epitome of real luxury
