I'm trying out "gameplay explanations" using the subtitles/closed captions. This way if you just want the gameplay, turn them off. If you want the explanations for what happens during the game or my decision making process you can turn them on! Let me know in the comments if you like this style and idea and would like to see more, or tell me to sod off :)

I worked on the exact BUNO 165572 that is modeled in the game during my time in the Marines. I took it on its last deployment back in 2021 before the squadron shut down. We were always fixing hydraulic leaks on the thing but still a beautiful aircraft in my opinion!

classic american team not doing shit even tho there's next to no enemies controlling the map. great gameplay tho (UI settings look like vomit)

In all fairness the map is terribly balanced with the opposing side being able to shoot our spawn from their spawn while being hulldown. As for the pink UI, I don't actually remember where that came from at this point. I think I was messing with it on stream and I liked the colour because its terrible :D

Good question: I actually haven't unlocked them on the Harrier yet, and I feel like they still fail to kill (in different ways) to the normal HEAT warhead ones. The HE/SAP explosions can get eaten by random volumetric/ERA spaghetti code just like the HEAT Mavericks can fail to pen or not spall enough. I tried the SAP variants on other planes that have them and I feel they're still a 1 to 1 sidegrade to the HEAT warhead, especially since this major patch heavily buffed the HEAT pen (and I feel like they nerfed explosive power from splash too). If I could aim the SAP/HE warhead like a laser missile I'd take them every time since I can land them on weakspots, but right now they have the same dorky module tracking as normal Mavericks and Spikes and I have no control. Maybe I'll give them a go again, but as of now I feel its a sidegrade where you either roll a binary kill/no kill with SAP/HE (but if it does damage, it kills) or have maybe a slightly lower chance to kill some targets, but have usually at least do some internal damage with the HEAT ones.

@@ichosolemanuel6048 Theres a lot of things to keep in mind about the protection analysis (its pretty good nowadays though if you can get impact angles right) Explosions (and their fragments) emanate from a specific point, not from the wall of the munition (thanks Gaijin). This means that the entire explosion can be eaten by ERA or a volumetric ???? (thanks Gaijin). I've seen both D and G mavericks (and if you've used paveways in autolead, entire paveways) get eaten by ???? even on direct hits. Thats why if you use a laser designated bomb (or HE missile like AS-30L, KH-25/29/38L) ALWAYS aim to land it NEXT TO the target. You can splash lower side armour (20mm on Combloc, 30-35 typically on NATO) or the belly. The tracking does apply to both types of mavericks. If it goes for a commanders cupola then the G maverick is more likely to overpressure. If it goes for the front hull then the D maverick is more likely to pen (and the spall buff means even through a spall liner the cone is massive). If it hits a T-series ERA on the front the D maverick likely won't pen. If you hit Relikt bag ERA on the side (or Merkavas, they're pretty HE resistant too), the G maverick explosion gets eaten, while a D maverick has the pen to go through. If it hits a barrel from the front, the G maverick will not do internal damage while the D maverick (depending on where the HEAT jet goes) might still pen the vehicle even from a standoff and do something internal. If you have roof shots the G might be more reliable, but that defeats the purpose of using the Harrier's helipad airspawn (And leaves you vulnerable to SPAMRAAMs or AA) meaning you have to deal with side ERA and front hull hits. I would never take the F-16 pylon where you trade 3 HEAT mavs for 1 SAP-HE mav But on the Harrier/Gripens my current stance is they're a sidegrade. They will fail spectacularly in different ways to the D mavs, but depending on the target set I can see situations where the G mavs are better (not facing Russia). Only plane where the G maverick is hands down the best choice is the Gripen C: Your other mavericks are TV versions and therefore won't work in night battles (if you have them on) and have a much shorter track lock range. I'll give the G mavericks another go when I unlock them on the Harrier, maybe take some (anecdotal, ingame) stats on their lethality and see which are better in the long run.

I have turned my engine sound to the minimum (27) and enemy engine sounds to max The engine that runs WT has a limit to the number sounds it can play at the same time (amongst other things) so when things get hectic, sometimes things just don't make sound.

commenting via subtitle can work if you reduce the amount of information going by per second. other wise it's really hard for us to watch and read it at the same time.
