@@benedictearlson9044 really the audio of these artillery shells are more impressive than what is seen. Very impressive and LOUD report if you are at a recreation area waiting for them to open up certain more snow laden runs, like the backside at stevens pass. Opens up the untracked narly pow so you can safely ride the best conditions available! 👍 So awesome!!

Is it possible to make a more anticlimactic video that has both "avalanche" and "bombing" in the title?
@kahlesjf2 жыл бұрын
@@OKuusava Or perhaps waking up at 5 am to howitzers lobbing rounds across the valley to the top of Alta to trigger avalanches from the overnight snowfall when I was 17 spoiled me a little.
@kahlesjf2 жыл бұрын
@@OKuusava True. The scenery is gorgeous. And the avalanches were Ok. But the title creates an expectation that never fully materializes. I watched the video differently the second time and was able to better appreciate the spectacular views. The first time I kept waiting for a massive explosion and half the mountain to come down. Ha!

Beautiful mountains, disappointing explosions & avalanches. Are the avalanches supposed to be this small, or bigger? Does it even do any good for the amount of litter left by the bombs?
Playing with explosives = dangerous ...In a helicopter = even more dangerous ...thats flying around near mountains = super dangerous ...and playing with a knife = yeah okay, why not?
@Ultrawup5 жыл бұрын
Nice vid! I don't know why it has so many dislikes D: Seeing the knife held with the point up near the guy who was waving his arms around to drop bombs was a bit unnerving though...

They were there, im just guessing here, but I imagine that's a fairly well groomed ski park of some sort. So they do this pretty frequently, so you wouldn't get big avalanches. Because they keep knocking it lose before it can build up and do real damage when it breaks loose . But yeah, I was disappointed too.

Ballistic artillery might not have the precision that’s apparently needed here, and the charge being deployed looks rather larger than the explosive load of typical field artillery shells (105-155 mm).

Completely unnecessary and devastating mountains.. It is only because of a few individuals who stuff themselves where they don't belong, just chasing a few photos, or proving that they were somewhere else than the others... Mountains were and always will be dangerous and that is why our ancestors learned to live in near them not on them!!!

I think detonations will weaken many big rocks, after many detonations. These huge rocks will eventually fall to the bottom of the mountain. Humans need to innovate softer methods to deal with avalanches.
