This is why James Cameron is the GOAT. Such immense detail shown here. He thinks out every little detail. That is what separates him from the rest.

It is absolutely dumbfounding the amount of work that went in this movie. The attention to detail and the level of sophisticated thought required to create such a film is absolutely insane. James Cameron is a perfectionist and an extremely ambitious filmmaker and artist and I respect him immensely for that. It's so retarded and ignorant when people today dismiss Avatar and want to discredit it as simply a Pocahontas in Space movie. The disrespect is crazy.

Some people have no respect. The sheer creative concepts that Cameron had to think of an the hours that concept artists had to sit through to bring you this world is staggering. I feel unintelligent people would not appreciate this film.

Some people criticize him for focusing too much on special effects and thefore putting the plot in second place. They may have a point, but I believe it was necessary to achieve the visual results.

@@molin1310 I agree. However, the plot is fine just the way it is. Overly complicating it would have made it feel too forced and taken away from the beauty and values it transmits. It's not like the plot was abhorrent, it was just cliché.

The detail is insane, its so amazingly well done that you forget how incredible it is before you watch the behind the scenes and is reminded that none of it is actually real.

The whole movie is a great big piece of art. Even over a decade later it's still one of the best movies that combine extensive animation with great acting and the incredible creativity of everyone involved in making up a whole new planet. I love it!

How did they manage to get High definition CGI background. In the making scenes virtual camera background just looks like Animation Did they used it for reference purposes ?
