Avatar Star Zoe Saldaña's Natural Date Night Look | Beauty Secrets | Vogue India

Actor Zoe Saldaña shares her guide to a natural makeup look in Vogue's Beauty Secrets. The ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ star begins her routine with the tried and trusted combination of toner and moisturiser, and is keen to highlight the importance of daily skin care; "I’ve always had a deep appreciation for a skin routine and it’s always been my time.” When it comes to concealer however, Zoe adopts a more-is-more approach, before applying blush and some strategically-placed bronzer, for a look inspired by makeup tutorials on Instagram. To finish off her date night look, the actor adds a muted lip tint with a moisturising lip balm: “It’s either a red lipstick that screams bam, in your face, or a little tint”.

I watched this feeling extremely proud. We have the EXACT same makeup routine and when she said “my skin absorbs makeup I screamed. My skin does the same thing. I hated it until my Cousin who’s a Derm told me it’s actually very healthy skin if it does that. So I hope she knows how great it is. She’s the first actress that ever made me feel represented. I love her so much!

Loved this. I’m not really a makeup person but I do like the natural look. I’ve watched various makeup tutorials and am blown away by how much makeup some people put on. The many layers of foundation, concealer, contouring, multi dimensional eye shadows, blush, then so stuff that bakes the makeup, spraying the face to seal everything in. And most look good when they’re done but for me when I put on a moisturizer it already gives my skin a sparkle and maybe just a little something like Zoe did and I’m done. But to each their own.

Freaking gorgeous. I don’t understand girls that like, do heavy, heavy, make up.. like I wear lashes, and lipstick and mascara and eyeshadow, but I have never put foundation or primer or any of that on my face.
