Well, some of the Na'Vi genes of the Recombody could cause this more or less directly. Maybe the energyfield of Ey'wa does something what he isn't able to notice.

The vehicle designs in Avatar never let down. It is kinda interesting how they manage to nerf the humans and make them look powerful at the same time though. As in a ground effect vehicle looks impressive, but a modern day destroyer would probably make short work of the sea tribes and would be very easy to build with the spider things they introduced

Given they've had 10 years to prepare and they know the Na'vi like to attack from above, I find it surprising the Sea Dragon wasn't equipped with AA guns to blast anything that enters the airspace above it...

Price of commandeering a civilian contractor rather than deploying a dedicated military boat. Man himself said he's geared to hunt the whales, which means he isn't equipped to fight a war.

The Cet-Ops are a maritime and marine sector. A separate branch of the RDA, but they work along side with the Sec-Ops given the Seawasp escorts surrounding the Sea Dragon.

Seems wasteful for them to only focus on hunting Tulkun, and just for their oil. I imagine the seas of Pandora like on Earth have a wide bounty of resources. Fish, rare metals, petroleum deposits, trade routes, etc.

Seawasps are just a piece of hardware. It’s similar to how the Navy and Airforce sometimes use the same aerial craft.

What makes the Sea Dragon different from other RDA ships in this movie isn't just because it's sea worthy, it's designed to hunt, not war It's why a single clan could take it and it's crew on and win If it was a regular dragon, they'd have been wiped out quickly

Neither was that big cargo ship in the first film that was supposed to drop the gas to the tree of souls. And it got blown up pretty much instantly when the escorters were gone.

@_MaZTeR_ that was ultimately a civilain craft converter to millitary use. We cant compare a bomber rigged from a 737 than a purpose build TU 22 bomber.

Seems to be true, but there is something different about this Ship that i've noticed. The Sea Dragon seems to have 6 missile silos at the helipad, 3 on each side. I hope Pandora wouldn't get nuked in one of the next films... well, with Bridgehead I wouldn't care that much, if they just nuke themselves accidently. In Fact at Bridgehead they will build a new one.

@@reneschleiermann9819 I disagree. I want the believable thing to happen and for the humans to crush the natives. They're far away from the deposits of their unobtanium so the radioactivity won't be an issue (hard to justify irradiating the thing they're there for) so nukes are on the table now.

I can't help but feel like Avatar 2's stakes are just so much lower, like sure humanity had less of a presence in the first movie but it was literally 'everything the humans had' full mobilization versus the wiping out of the entire na'vi tribe's village/sacred grounds, requiring all the tribes they could muster to hold them off PLUS pandora's wildlife, whereas in 2 it's like, we see the amount of forces the RDA brought to Pandora, and then the movie's plot is... a single squad of giant smurf'd soldiers and a... single whaling ship which while armed and armored against the dangerous pandora wildlife, is NOT actually a ship designed for combat, versus a few swimming na'vi and some whales/other fish. No wonder James Cameron has 'somehow' managed to lay out five or seven or however many potential future movies off of this material LOL. What's next, Jake Sully and Neytiri join the mud people in some caves versus the RDA's Pandora subway transit system?

It's setting up for Avatar 3. James Cameron mentioned there will be some evil Navi known as the Ash People joining the RDA against Jake and the other Navi clans. Which means the stakes will be much higher in that one and the fate of Pandora will be shown. There's a possibility of a romance between Quatrich and the Ash People leader, Varang.

The arc of this movie was all about showing how there's no sense in running from the enemy and that you have to stand and fight it. The stakes only appear small because the heroes have run and hid instead of fighting. In the next one, where they DO fight, it's more likely we'll see the stakes rise. Imagine how much Bridgehead city will have grown alone.

I know the climactic fight wouldn't be as huge, but it would be pretty cool if Quaritch learned from his past mistakes and instead of bringing a massive target, he just took his team and did a low level strike and find the Sully's without bringing attention to themselves.

@@sadfrog15 Dude come on Banshees have wings and can fly anywhere whenever tf they want *exactly* like quaritch and his team did here. Armies tend to learn from past conflicts and update their strategies accordingly. After getting absolutely demolished by hordes of ikran riders in the first film it would be beyond logical to have an increased number of gun positions to prevent it from happening again. What the fck is one singular mg going to do for a ship of that size.

I think besides plot armor the humans have made the mistake to not focus on heavy armor/weaponry against the Na'vi, twice. The Sea Dragon is not a warship but if it was, Sully and the Metkayina wouldn't have stood a chance. At least in the first movie he organized with a lot more numbers on his side and only ever won because the wildlife decided they wanted their peace back as well.

I would pay to see the earth sending their elite military forces with advanced technology and arrow-proof windshields who would make Jake think about his choices and his shitty job as a diplomat and negotiator. It would add such depth to the movie if humanity was portrayed as fighting for survival, going for the stars instead of greedy corporation/dumb insensitive people in charge in contrast to every enlightened NaVi. The way Cameron portrayed them is also funny, they dont have diseases, dont have wars among tribes, dont have disabled memebers, dont have guys who have greedy or animalistic tendencies. Everything is utopia in their world. What is even more annoying is Jake who seperates himself completely from his race, sending others to dying planet while he stays with the girl he betrayed his mission for😂
